¹² What man is he that desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good?

² That you might fear the LORD your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

²⁰ That you may love the LORD your God, and that you may obey his voice, and that you may hold to him: for he is your life, and the length of your days: that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

⁷ O remember that my life is wind: my eye shall no more see good.

⁶ There be many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift you up the light of your countenance on us.

⁴ He asked life of you, and you gave it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

¹⁶ With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

³ I sought in my heart to give myself to wine, yet acquainting my heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.

¹³ And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.

¹³ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

¹⁰ For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: ¹¹ Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. ¹² For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
