¹⁷ Yes, and if I be offered on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

⁸ So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted to you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because you were dear to us.

⁷ Therefore, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: ⁸ For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy with which we joy for your sakes before our God;

⁶ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

¹⁵ By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. ¹⁶ But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

⁵ You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
