⁴ Though you exalt yourself as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, there will I bring you down, said the LORD.

⁶ Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach to the clouds; ⁷ Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?

²⁷ Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make her nest on high? ²⁸ She dwells and stays on the rock, on the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

¹² How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations! ¹³ For you have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also on the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: ¹⁴ I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. ¹⁵ Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

¹⁶ Your terribleness has deceived you, and the pride of your heart, O you that dwell in the clefts of the rock, that hold the height of the hill: though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there, said the LORD.

⁵³ Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come to her, said the LORD.

² Though they dig into hell, there shall my hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, there will I bring them down:

⁹ Woe to him that covets an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
