⁴ But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

⁷ You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

² And said to me, What see you? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are on the top thereof: ³ And two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl, and the other on the left side thereof.

¹⁵ John bore witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. ¹⁶ And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.

³⁴ For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure to him.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

²² Who has also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

²⁷ But the anointing which you have received of him stays in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.

¹⁹ These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
