⁵⁰ The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

¹ He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

⁴² Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord does come. ⁴³ But know this, that if the manager of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. ⁴⁴ Therefore be you also ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man comes.

² For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail on a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

³ Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come on you.
