⁷ Behold, you are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.

⁵ Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure to me above all people: for all the earth is mine: ⁶ And you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.

⁶ Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

¹ You are the children of the LORD your God: you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. ² For you are an holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a peculiar people to himself, above all the nations that are on the earth.

¹⁴ And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.

³⁰ And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt to this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.

¹⁸ Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.

⁶ For by wise counsel you shall make your war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

¹ It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

⁶ Your glorying is not good. Know you not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

¹⁰ Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortionists, or with idolaters; for then must you needs go out of the world. ¹¹ But now I have written to you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortionist; with such an one no not to eat. ¹² For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not you judge them that are within?

⁵ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraides not; and it shall be given him.
