³⁵ Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that my adversary had written a book.

³ Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

²¹ Withdraw your hand far from me: and let not your dread make me afraid. ²² Then call you, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer you me.

²⁴ Why hide you your face, and hold me for your enemy?

⁷ Let my enemy be as the wicked, and he that rises up against me as the unrighteous.

²⁸ I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation.

⁶ Behold, I am according to your wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.

¹⁰ Behold, he finds occasions against me, he counts me for his enemy, ¹¹ He puts my feet in the stocks, he marks all my paths.

¹⁴ Although you say you shall not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust you in him.

¹ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, ² Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? ³ Gird up now your loins like a man; for I will demand of you, and answer you me.

⁴ Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer you? I will lay my hand on my mouth. ⁵ Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yes, twice; but I will proceed no further.

¹ Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in my integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.

²⁵ Agree with your adversary quickly, whiles you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.
