²² Receive, I pray you, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.

¹ Now therefore listen, O Israel, to the statutes and to the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you. ² You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

⁶ And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: ⁷ And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. ⁸ And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. ⁹ And you shall write them on the posts of your house, and on your gates.

¹² Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

¹¹ Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

¹ My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments with you; ² So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; ³ Yes, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; ⁴ If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; ⁵ Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. ⁷ He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. ⁸ He keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints. ⁹ Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yes, every good path.

⁴ He taught me also, and said to me, Let your heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

²¹ Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the middle of your heart.

¹⁶ Your words were found, and I did eat them; and your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, O LORD God of hosts.

³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

⁵² Then said he to them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed to the kingdom of heaven is like to a man that is an householder, which brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.

¹ Furthermore then we beseech you, brothers, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more. ² For you know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
