¹⁹ For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw near to God.

²⁸ But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all your works.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

⁶ Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.

³⁹ And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. ²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

² By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

³ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

¹⁶ Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

²⁴ Why the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made near by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us; ¹⁵ Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of two one new man, so making peace; ¹⁶ And that he might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: ¹⁷ And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were near. ¹⁸ For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

¹² In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

²⁷ To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

¹ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Savior, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

¹⁶ Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

¹⁸ That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us:

¹¹ If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

²⁵ Why he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

⁶ But now has he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

⁹ Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

¹ For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

¹⁹ Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ By a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; ²¹ And having an high priest over the house of God; ²² Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

⁴⁰ God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
