¹⁵ What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray to him?

⁴ The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

⁶ And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

¹⁴ You have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

⁵ For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

¹⁵ For we are to God a sweet smell of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: ¹⁶ To the one we are the smell of death to death; and to the other the smell of life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

⁶ Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God on the children of disobedience.

⁸ In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. ¹¹ For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

³⁶ For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
