²² Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brothers:

³⁶ And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatever the king did pleased all the people.

⁴ And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.

¹² Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

²³ And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

⁴ But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. ⁵ And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

¹⁴ Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John:

²² Then tidings of these things came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

¹ And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brothers, and said, Except you be circumcised after the manner of Moses, you cannot be saved. ² When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

²³ And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brothers send greeting to the brothers which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

²⁵ It seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

²⁷ We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

³² And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brothers with many words, and confirmed them.

⁴⁰ And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brothers to the grace of God.

¹⁹ And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace to the rulers,

²⁵ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises to God: and the prisoners heard them.

²⁹ Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

⁴ And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

¹⁰ And the brothers immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night to Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

¹⁴ And then immediately the brothers sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus stayed there still.

⁵ And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.
