⁵ But watch you in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your ministry.

⁹ All you beasts of the field, come to devour, yes, all you beasts in the forest. ¹⁰ His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

⁶ I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: you that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

¹⁷ Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Listen to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not listen.

¹⁷ Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

² Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them, When I bring the sword on a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

⁷ So you, O son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

³⁴ For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

³⁷ And what I say to you I say to all, Watch.

³⁷ Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he comes shall find watching: truly I say to you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

³⁰ Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. ³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

⁸ And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came to Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and stayed with him.

¹⁹ Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

¹¹ And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

²⁵ Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God;

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it.

⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

¹² Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

¹⁵ Meditate on these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all.

⁸ Be not you therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be you partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

³ You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹⁰ But you have fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience, ¹¹ Persecutions, afflictions, which came to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. ¹² Yes, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

¹⁷ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

¹³ Why gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

² Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found your works perfect before God.
