¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us:

²⁸ So that they cause the cry of the poor to come to him, and he hears the cry of the afflicted.

²² For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to you.

¹⁷ The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

³³ For the LORD hears the poor, and despises not his prisoners.

²⁹ The LORD is far from the wicked: but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

¹² Then shall you call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. ¹³ And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.

³ Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you: ⁸ For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. ⁹ Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? ¹⁰ Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? ¹¹ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

²² And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.

³¹ Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does his will, him he hears.

⁴² And I knew that you hear me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that you have sent me.

¹³ And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

⁷ If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.

²⁴ Till now have you asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

¹² In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

⁶ But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

¹⁴ For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end;

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward.

⁵ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraides not; and it shall be given him. ⁶ But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

³ You ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it on your lusts.

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. ²² And whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
