⁹ What do ye devise against LORD? He will make a full end. Affliction shall not rise up the second time.

¹² In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end.

⁸ Then said Abishai to David, God has delivered up thine enemy into thy hand this day. Now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear to the earth at one stroke, and I will not smite him the second time.

¹⁰ But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab's hand. So he smote him with it in the body, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again, and he died. And Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.

¹ Why do the nations rage, and the peoples meditate vain things? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against LORD, and against his anointed, saying, ³ Let us break their bonds apart, and cast away their cords from us. ⁴ He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.

¹¹ For they intended evil against thee. They conceived a device which they are not able to perform.

¹⁰ LORD brings the counsel of the nations to naught. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.

³⁰ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against LORD.

⁹ Make an uproar, O ye peoples, and be broken in pieces. And give ear, all ye of far countries. Gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces. Gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces. ¹⁰ Take counsel together, and it shall be brought to nothing. Speak the word, and it shall not stand, for God is with us.

¹⁰ Thus says the lord LORD: It shall come to pass in that day, that things shall come into thy mind, and thou shall devise an evil plan. ¹¹ And thou shall say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages. I will go to those who are at rest, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

¹¹ He has gone forth out of thee, who devises evil against LORD, who counsels wickedness.

²⁵ He who said through the mouth of thy boy David, Why do the nations rage, and the peoples meditate vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together, against the Lord, and against his Christ. ²⁷ For in truth, against thy holy Boy Jesus, whom thou anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together, ²⁸ to do as many things as thy hand and thy purpose predetermined to happen.
