²⁹ But straightaway after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light. And the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

¹⁰ For the stars of heaven and the constellations of it shall not give their light. The sun shall be darkened in its going forth, and the moon shall not cause its light to shine.

²³ Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, for LORD of hosts will reign in mount Zion and in Jerusalem. And glory shall be before his elders.

⁴ And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll. And all their host shall fade away as the leaf fades from off the vine, and as a fading leaf from the fig tree.

²³ I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was waste and void, and the heavens, and they had no light. ²⁴ I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved to and fro. ²⁵ I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. ²⁶ I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of LORD, and before his fierce anger. ²⁷ For thus says LORD: The whole land shall be a desolation, yet I will not make a full end. ²⁸ For this the earth shall mourn, and the heavens above be black, because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and I have not relented, nor will I turn back from it.

⁷ And when I shall extinguish thee, I will cover the heavens, and make the stars of it dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light. ⁸ All the bright lights of heaven I will make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, says the lord LORD.

¹¹ I beheld at that time because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke. I beheld even till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed, and it was given to be burned with fire. ¹² And as for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away. Yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.

¹⁰ The earth quakes before them. The heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.

³⁰ And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and wonderful day of LORD comes.

⁹ And it shall come to pass in that day, says the lord LORD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

¹⁴ The great day of LORD is near. It is near and hastens greatly, the voice of the day of LORD. The mighty man cries there bitterly. ¹⁵ That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

⁸ But all these things are the beginning of travail.

²¹ for then there will be great tribulation, such as not has happened from the beginning of the world until now, nor, no, it will not happen.

²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, ²⁵ and the stars of the sky will be falling, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.

²⁵ And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, roaring of sea and of tossing, ²⁶ fainting of men from fear, and of anticipation of the things coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

¹⁹ And I will give wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. ²⁰ The sun will be changed into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and wonderful day of the Lord comes.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, during which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements, being intensely hot, will be disintegrated, and the earth and the works in it will be destroyed by fire.

¹² And I looked when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake occurred, and the sun became black as hairy sackcloth, and the whole moon became as blood. ¹³ And the stars of the sky fell to the earth as a fig tree that casts its unripe figs being shaken by a great wind. ¹⁴ And the sky departed as a scroll being rolled up. And every mountain and island were moved out of their places. ¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the rulers, and the chief captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains. ¹⁶ And they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. ¹⁷ Because the great day of his wrath has come, and who is able to stand?

¹² And the fourth agent sounded, and the third part of the sun was struck, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them would be darkened. And the day did not shine the third part of it, and likewise the night.
