³⁹ And when he entered in, he says to them, Why do ye make a commotion, and weep? The child did not die, but sleeps.

² And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

¹¹ He spoke these things, and after this he says to them, Our friend Lazarus has become asleep, but I go that I may awake him. ¹² His disciples therefore said, Lord, if he has become asleep, he will be healed. ¹³ But Jesus had spoken about his death, but those men thought that he was speaking about the restfulness of sleep.

¹⁰ But Paul having come down, he fell on him, and having embraced him he said, Be not troubled, for his life is in him.

³⁰ Because of this many are weak and sickly among you, and a considerable sleep.

¹³ But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about those who are asleep, so that ye may not grieve, as also the others who have no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and arose, so also those who became asleep through Jesus, God will bring with him.

¹⁰ So that, whether we are awake or sleep, we should live together with him.
