⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth. For he is the messenger of LORD of hosts.

¹¹ and that ye may teach the sons of Israel all the statutes which LORD has spoken to them by Moses.

²¹ And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before LORD. At his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the sons of Israel with him, even all the congregation.

⁸ If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates, then thou shall arise, and get thee up to the place which LORD thy God shall choose. ⁹ And thou shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days, and thou shall inquire. And they shall show thee the sentence of judgment. ¹⁰ And thou shall do according to the tenor of the sentence which they shall show thee from that place which LORD shall choose. And thou shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach thee, ¹¹ according to the tenor of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shall do. Thou shall not turn aside from the sentence, which they shall show thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

⁵ And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near, for LORD thy God has chosen them to minister to him, and to bless in the name of LORD, and according to their word shall every controversy and every stroke be.

⁸ Take heed in the disease of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you. As I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.

⁸ and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests. ⁹ And they taught in Judah, having the book of the law of LORD with them. And they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.

²² And Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who had good understanding in the service of LORD. So they ate throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of peace offerings, and making confession to LORD, the God of their fathers.

¹⁰ For Ezra had set his heart to seek the law of LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and ordinances.

² And Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly, both men and women, and all who could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. ³ And he read in it before the broad place that was before the water gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women, and of those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the book of the law. ⁴ And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Uriah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand, and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchijah, and Hashum, and Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam. ⁵ And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people (for he was above all the people), and when he opened it, all the people stood up. ⁶ And Ezra blessed LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Truly, Truly, with the lifting up of their hands. And they bowed their heads, and worshiped LORD with their faces to the ground. ⁷ Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law. And the people stood in their place. ⁸ And they read in the book, in the law of God, distinctly, and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading.

¹⁹ Who is blind, but my servant, or deaf, as my messenger that I send? Who is blind as he who is at peace with me, and blind as LORD's servant?

²⁶ who confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers, who says of Jerusalem, She shall be inhabited, and of the cities of Judah, They shall be built, and I will raise up the waste places of it,

¹⁹ Therefore thus says LORD: If thou return, then I will bring thee again that thou may stand before me. And if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shall be as my mouth. They shall return to thee, but thou shall not return to them.

¹⁸ Then they said, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah. For the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

¹³ Then Haggai, LORD's agent, spoke in LORD's message to the people, saying, I am with you, says LORD.

¹¹ Thus says LORD of hosts: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, ¹² If a man bears holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt touches bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any food, shall it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No. ¹³ Then Haggai said, If a man who is unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.

¹ Behold, I send my agent, and he shall prepare the way before me. And the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple. And the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he comes, says LORD of hosts.

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives any man whomever I may send, receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.

²¹ Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you.

¹⁷ This woman having followed Paul and us was crying out, saying, These men are bondmen of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.

²⁰ We are therefore, ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were calling through us. We plead on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.

¹⁴ And ye did not disdain, nor did ye reject my trial in my flesh, but ye received me as an agent of God, as Christ Jesus.

⁸ Therefore he who disregards, disregards not man, but God, who also gave his Holy Spirit to you.

²⁴ And a bondman of the Lord must not quarrel, but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, ²⁵ in meekness correcting those who oppose. Perhaps God may grant them repentance for recognition of the truth,
