¹⁷ And LORD prepared a great sea creature to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the sea creature three days and three nights.

²¹ And God created the great sea creatures, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

²⁵ Yonder is the sea, great and wide, in which are innumerable creeping things, both small and great beasts. ²⁶ There go the ships. There is leviathan, whom thou have formed to play in it.

⁶ And LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah was very glad because of the gourd.

⁴ An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet. And having left them behind, he departed.

³⁰ For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of man will be to this generation.
