¹¹ Why did I not die from the womb? Why did I not give up the spirit when my mother bore me?

¹⁸ Why then have thou brought me forth out of the womb? I would have given up the spirit, and no eye had seen me. ¹⁹ I should have been as though I had not been. I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

⁹ But thou are he who took me out of the womb. Thou made me trust upon my mother's breasts. ¹⁰ I was cast upon thee from the womb. Thou are my God since my mother bore me.

⁸ as a snail which melts and passes away, as the untimely birth of a woman, that has not seen the sun.

⁶ By thee I have been held up from the womb. Thou are he who took me out of my mother's bowels. My praise shall be continually of thee.

¹³ For thou formed my inward parts. Thou covered me in my mother's womb. ¹⁴ I will give thanks to thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are thy works, and that my soul knows right well. ¹⁵ My frame was not hidden from thee, when I was made in secret, curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. ¹⁶ Thine eyes saw my unformed substance, and in thy book they were all written, even the days that were ordained, when as yet there was none of them.

³ Hearken to me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from their birth, who have been carried from the womb.

¹⁰ Woe is me, my mother, that thou have bore me, a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, nor have men lent to me, yet every one of them curses me.

¹⁴ Give them, O LORD-what will thou give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
