⁵ Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.

¹⁹ And they said to him, Hold thy peace, lay thy hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest. Is it better for thee to be priest to the house of one man, or to be priest to a tribe and a family in Israel?

¹² And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and did not recognize him, they lifted up their voice, and wept. And each one tore his robe, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

⁸ Upright men shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall stir himself up against the profane.

²⁰ My bone cleaves to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped with the skin of my teeth. ²¹ Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends, for the hand of God has touched me.

⁹ The rulers refrained from talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.

⁴ Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth.

³² If thou have done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou have thought evil, lay thy hand upon thy mouth.

¹³ Therefore he who is prudent shall keep silence in such a time, for it is an evil time.

¹⁶ The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might. They shall lay their hand upon their mouth. Their ears shall be deaf.

³³ O the depth of wealth, both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways beyond finding out!
