⁵ O that ye would altogether be silent! And it would be your wisdom.

³ Should thy boastings make men hold their peace? And when thou mock, shall no man make thee ashamed?

¹³ Be quiet. Let me alone that I may speak, and let come on me what will.

³ Shall vain words have an end? Or what provokes thee that thou answer?

² How long will ye hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.

² How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?

² Hear diligently my speech, And let this be your consolations. ³ Allow me, and I also will speak, and after I have spoken, mock on.

¹ So these three men ceased to answer Job because he was righteous in his own eyes.

²⁸ Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is considered wise. When he shuts his lips, he is prudent.

³ For a dream comes with a multitude of business, and a fool's voice with a multitude of words.

¹³ Therefore he who is prudent shall keep silence in such a time, for it is an evil time.

¹⁹ Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
