¹² Will thou restrain thyself for these things, O LORD? Will thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very severely?

¹ Why do thou stand afar off, O LORD? Why do thou hide thyself in times of trouble?

¹⁰ How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name forever? ¹¹ Why do thou draw back thy hand, even thy right hand? Remove it from the midst of thy bosom.

¹⁸ Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O LORD, and that a foolish people has blasphemed thy name. ¹⁹ O deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove to the wild beast. Forget not the life of thy poor forever.

⁵ How long, O LORD? Will thou be angry forever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

³ Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. ⁴ O LORD God of hosts, how long will thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

¹ O God, keep thou not silence. Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

⁴⁶ How long, O LORD? Will thou hide thyself forever? Shall thy wrath burn like fire? ⁴⁷ O remember how short my time is, for what vanity thou have created all the sons of men! ⁴⁸ What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah. ⁴⁹ Lord, where are thy former loving kindnesses, which thou swore to David in thy faithfulness? ⁵⁰ Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants, how I bear in my bosom all the mighty peoples, ⁵¹ with which thine enemies have reproached, O LORD, with which they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

¹⁴ I have for a long time held my peace. I have been still, and refrained myself. Now I will cry out like a travailing woman. I will gasp and pant together.

¹² Then the agent of LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long will thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou have had indignation these seventy years?

¹⁰ And they cried out in a great voice, saying, Master, Holy and True, how long do thou not judge and avenge our blood from those who dwell on the earth?
