²⁰ Thy sons have fainted. They lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net. They are full of the wrath of LORD, the rebuke of thy God.

²⁵ Therefore the anger of LORD is kindled against his people, and he has stretched forth his hand against them, and has smitten them. And the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

²¹ And they shall pass through it, greatly distressed and hungry. And it shall come to pass that, when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse by their king and by their God, and turn their faces upward.

¹⁹ Through the wrath of LORD of hosts is the land burnt up, and the people are as the fuel of fire; no man spares his brother. ²⁰ And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry. And he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied. They shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm- ²¹ Manasseh, Ephraim, and Ephraim, Manasseh, and together they shall be against Judah. ⁹ Tarry ye and wonder, take your pleasure and be blind. They are drunken, but not with wine. They stagger, but not with strong drink.

³⁰ Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.

²⁶ And I will feed those who oppress thee with their own flesh. And they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine. And all flesh shall know that I, LORD, am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁷ Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, who have drunk at the hand of LORD the cup of his wrath. Thou have drunk the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.

²¹ Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine.

¹⁶ And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword, and they shall have none to bury them-them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters. For I will pour their wickedness upon them.

¹⁸ If I go forth into the field, then, behold, the slain with the sword! And if I enter into the city, then, behold, those who are sick with famine! For both the prophet and the priest go about in the land, and have no knowledge.

¹⁵ The Lord has trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me. He has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men. The Lord has trodden the virgin daughter of Judah as in a winepress.

¹⁹ I called for my loved ones, but they deceived me. My priests and my elders gave up the spirit in the city, while they sought food for themselves to refresh their souls.

¹¹ My eyes fail with tears, my heart is troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, because the young sons and the sucklings faint in the streets of the city. ¹² They say to their mothers, Where is grain and wine? when they faint as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul is poured out into their mothers' bosom.

¹⁵ He has filled me with bitterness. He has sated me with wormwood. ¹⁶ He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones. He has covered me with ashes.

And the men blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues, and they did not repent to give him glory. ¹⁰ And the fifth agent poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast, and its kingdom became darkened, and they gnawed their tongues from the anguish. ¹¹ And they blasphemed the God of heaven from their pains and from their sores. And they did not repent of their works.
