Deuteronomy 11:6

Isaiah 24:1-5

1 Behold, LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad the inhabitants of it. 2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest, as with the servant, so with his master, as with the maid, so with her mistress, as with the buyer, so with the seller, as with the creditor, so with the debtor, as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest to him. 3 The earth shall be utterly emptied, and utterly laid waste, for LORD has spoken this word. 4 The earth mourns and fades away. The world languishes and fades away. The lofty people of the earth languish. 5 The earth also is polluted under the inhabitants of it, because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant.

Isaiah 34:4-10

4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll. And all their host shall fade away as the leaf fades from off the vine, and as a fading leaf from the fig tree. 5 For my sword has drunk its fill in heaven. Behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. 6 The sword of LORD is filled with blood. It is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams, for LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom. 7 And the wild oxen shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls. And their land shall be drunken with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. 8 For LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion. 9 And the streams of Edom shall be turned into pitch, and the dust of it into brimstone. And the land thereof shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be quenched night nor day. The smoke of it shall go up forever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste. None shall pass through it forever and ever.

Jeremiah 4:23-28

23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was waste and void, and the heavens, and they had no light. 24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved to and fro. 25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. 26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of LORD, and before his fierce anger. 27 For thus says LORD: The whole land shall be a desolation, yet I will not make a full end. 28 For this the earth shall mourn, and the heavens above be black, because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and I have not relented, nor will I turn back from it.

Nahum 1:5
