⁹ And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.

¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp is set forward, after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it, but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.

² And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of LORD. And these are their journeys according to their goings out.

¹⁸ And it shall be, when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for him a copy of this law in a book, out of it before the priests the Levites,

²² So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the sons of Israel. ²³ And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a command, and said, Be strong and of good courage, for thou shall bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and I will be with thee. ²⁴ And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, ²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of LORD, saying, ²⁶ Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

²⁸ Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

³ and they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall move from your place, and go after it.

¹⁴ And it came to pass, when the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan-the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people- ¹⁵ and when those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark were dipped in the brink of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest), ¹⁶ that the waters which came down from above, stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan, and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. And the people passed over right against Jericho. ¹⁷ And the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan, and all Israel passed over on dry ground until all the nation were passed clean over the Jordan.

¹² And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of LORD.

³ And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

² Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites, for LORD has them chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister to him forever.

¹² And said to them, Ye are the heads of the fathers of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brothers, that ye may bring up the ark of LORD, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it. ¹³ For because ye did not at the first, LORD our God made a breach upon us, because we did not seek him according to the ordinance. ¹⁴ So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of LORD, the God of Israel. ¹⁵ And the sons of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of LORD.

¹³ As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us. Yet we have not entreated the favor of LORD our God, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in thy truth.

⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because thou have rejected knowledge, I also will reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me. Since thou have forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy sons.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth. For he is the messenger of LORD of hosts.

⁴ Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.

⁴ And they said, Moses permitted to write a document of divorce, and to divorce her. ⁵ But having answered, Jesus said to them, For your hard heart he wrote for you this commandment.

¹⁹ Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If a man's brother dies, and leaves behind a wife, and leaves no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed for his brother.

²⁸ saying, Teacher, Moses wrote to us, if any brother dies, having a wife, and this man dies childless, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.

¹⁷ Because the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came to be through Jesus Christ.

⁴⁵ Philip finds Nathanael, and says to him, We have found him of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets wrote: Jesus the son of Joseph of Nazareth.

⁴⁶ For if ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me, for that man wrote about me.
