⁵ Have we no, not a right to lead about a sister wife, as also the other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

⁹ Thou have ravished my heart, my sister, my bride. Thou have ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck. ¹⁰ How fair is thy love, my sister, my bride! How much better is thy love than wine, and the fragrance of thine oils than all manner of spices!

¹² A garden shut up is my sister, my bride, a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

¹ I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride. I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey. I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, O friends. Drink, yea. Drink abundantly, O beloved. ² I was asleep, but my heart awoke. It is the voice of my beloved who knocks, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled. For my head is filled with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.

¹⁴ And when Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law, having been laid down, and feverish.

⁴⁶ While he was still speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers had stood outside, seeking to speak to him. ⁴⁷ And some man said to him, Behold, thy mother and thy brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to thee. ⁴⁸ But having answered, he said to the man who told him, Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? ⁴⁹ And having stretched forth his hand towards his disciples, he said, Behold, my mother and my brothers. ⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father in the heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James and Joses and Simon and Judas?

³⁰ But Simon's mother-in-law lay feverish, and straightaway they tell him about her.

³ Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judah and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended by him.

¹⁵ Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,

⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And having seen him, Jesus said, Thou are Simon the son of Jonah. Thou will be called Cephas (which is interpreted, Peter).

¹² After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers and his disciples. And they remained there not many days.

¹⁴ All these men were continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

¹ Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe who is a helper of the congregation at Cenchreae,

⁷ For I wish all men to be even as myself. However each man has his own gift from God, one in this way, and another after that.

¹⁵ But if the unbeliever separates, he shall separate. The brother or the sister has not been bound in such things. And God has called us to peace.

³⁹ A wife is bound by law as long a time as her husband lives, but also if the husband should sleep, she is free to be married to whom she desires, only in the Lord.

¹⁹ But I did not see another of the apostles except James the Lord's brother.

² The overseer therefore must be blameless, the husband of one wife, sober, serious minded, disciplined, loving strangers, able to teach,

³ forbidding to marry, to abstain from foods, which God created for partaking with thankfulness by those who believe and know the truth.

² elder women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.

⁶ if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having believing children, not with an accusation of debauchery or insubordinate.

⁴ Marriage is precious in every way, and the undefiled bed, but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
