⁵ For they that are according to the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

³³ But he turning about, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying: Get thee behind me, Satan; for thou thinkest not the things of God, but those of men.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

⁶ For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it does not submit itself to the law of God, neither indeed can it;

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. And if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

¹² So that, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. ¹³ For if ye live according to the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. ¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are sons of God.

¹⁴ But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he can not know them, because they are spiritually judged.

⁴⁸ As was the earthy, such are they also that are earthy; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

³ For though walking in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh;

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest; which are, fornication, uncleanness, wantonness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, emulation, wraths, contentions, divisions, factions, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings; and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, temperance; against such things there is no law. ²⁴ And they that are Christ's crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. ²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

⁹ for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,—

¹⁸ For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ; ¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.

¹ IF then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, sitting on the right hand of God. ² Set your mind on the things above, not on the things upon the earth. ³ For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

¹⁰ but chiefly those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise dominion. Presumptuous, self-willed, they are not afraid to rail at dignities;
