¹ AND I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more. ² And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a loud voice out of the throne, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and GOD-WITH-THEM himself will he their God. ⁴ And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, nor shall mourning, nor crying, nor pain be any more; because the former things are passed away. ⁵ And he who sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And he says: Write; because these words are faithful and true. ⁶ And he said to me: It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that thirsts, of the fountain of the water of life freely. ⁷ He that overcomes shall inherit these things; and I will be to him a God, and he shall be to me a son. ⁸ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and defiled with abominations, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. ⁹ And there came one from among the seven angels, who have the seven cups full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying: Come hither; I will show thee the bride, the wife of the Lamb. ¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹ having the glory of God; her luminary like to a most precious stone, as it were to a jasper stone, clear as crystal; ¹² having a wall great and high; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel; ¹³ on the east three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundation-stones, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. ¹⁵ And he who talked with me had a golden reed for a measure, that he might measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. ¹⁶ And the city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as the breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length, and the breadth, and the height of it are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, which is that of an angel. ¹⁸ And the structure of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like to pure glass. ¹⁹ The foundation-stones of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation-stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each several gate was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as transparent glass. ²² And I saw in it no temple; for the Lord God the Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb. ²³ And the city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine on it; for the glory of God lightened it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. ²⁴ And the nations will walk by its light; and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it. ²⁵ And its gates will not be shut by day; for there will be no night there; ²⁶ and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. ²⁷ And there shall not enter into it any thing unclean, or that works abomination or falsehood; but they who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will be dissolved with burning heat, and the earth and the works therein will be burned up.

¹³ But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.

¹ AND I stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads names of blasphemy;

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him who sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.

⁵ And he who sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And he says: Write; because these words are faithful and true.

²⁹ He that has the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This my joy therefore is made full.

² For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy; for I espoused you to one husband, that I may present a chaste virgin to Christ.

²⁵ which is Hagar (for the word Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia), and answers to the Jerusalem that now is, for she is in bondage with her children. ²⁶ But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, as also Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for it; ²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the bathing of water in the word, ²⁷ that he might himself present to himself the church, glorious, having no spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and blameless.

³⁰ because we are members of his body, [being] of his flesh, and of his bones. ³¹ For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. ³² This mystery is great; but I am speaking of Christ and of the church.

¹⁰ for he looked for the city which has the foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

²² But ye have come to mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,

¹⁴ For here we have not an abiding city, but are seeking for that which is to come.

¹ THE Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show to his servants what things must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John;

⁴ John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven spirits that are before his throne;

⁹ I, John, your brother, and partner with you in the affliction, and kingdom, and patient endurance in Jesus, was in the island called Patmos, on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

¹² He that overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.

² And the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; because it was given to the Gentiles, and they will tread down the holy city forty-two months.

⁷ Let us rejoice and exult, and we will give to him the glory; because the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife made herself ready. ⁸ And it was given her that she should be clothed in fine linen, pure and shining; for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

¹⁹ and if any one shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written of in this book.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we beheld his glory, a glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

²³ Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For ye are a temple of the living God; as God said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be to me a people.

¹⁸ and will be to you a Father, and ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will establish for the house of Israel, After those days, saith the Lord, Putting my laws into their mind, And on their hearts I will write them; And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people;

¹⁶ But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly; wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for he prepared for them a city.

¹⁵ Therefore are they before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them.

⁴ And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; and I heard a voice out of heaven saying to me: Seal up the things which the seven thunders spoke, and write them not.

⁸ And the voice which I heard out of heaven [I heard] again speaking to me, and saying: Go, take the little book which lies opened in the hand of the angel, who stands upon the sea and upon the land.

¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: Now is come the salvation, and the strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; because the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.

⁷ He that overcomes shall inherit these things; and I will be to him a God, and he shall be to me a son.

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away; but my words shall not pass away.

³¹ and they that use this world, as not abusing it; for the fashion of this world is passing away.

²⁶ As the last enemy, Death shall be done away. For he subjected all things under his feet.

⁵⁴ And when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then will be brought to pass the saying, that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. ⁵⁵ Where, O death, is thy sting? Where, O death, is thy victory? ⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. ⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹⁷ Wherefore, come out from among them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and touch not anything unclean; and I will receive you,

¹⁴ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner took part in the same; that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the Devil; ¹⁵ and might deliver those who, through fear of death, were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

¹⁷ And the world is passing away, and the lust thereof; but he that does the will of God abides forever.

¹⁷ because the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will lead them to the fountains of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

¹⁴ And death and the underworld were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

³ And there will be no more curse. And the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it; and his servants will serve him,

¹⁷ So that if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, all things have become new.

¹¹ saying: What thou seest, write in a book, and send to the seven churches; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamus, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

¹⁹ Write therefore the things which thou sawest, and the things which are, and the things which shall be after these;

² Immediately I was in the Spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

⁹ And when the animals shall give glory, and honor, and thanksgiving, to him who sits upon the throne, to him who lives forever and ever,

¹ AND I saw, on the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written within and on the back side, sealed up with seven seals.

⁹ And he says to me: Write, Happy are they who are called to the marriage-supper of the Lamb. And he says to me: These are the true sayings of God.

⁶ And he said to me: These sayings are faithful and true; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show to his servants what things must shortly come to pass.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her: If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that says to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁴ But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water, springing up into everlasting life.

³⁷ In the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying: If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. ³⁸ He that believes on me, as said the Scripture, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

²⁴ being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

³² He who spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?

¹² And we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.

⁵ Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to each one?

¹² And if any one builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

²¹ So then, let no one glory in men. For all things are yours;

⁴ because all that is begotten of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, he who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand on me, saying: Fear not: I am the first and the last,

⁶ and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things therein, and the earth and the things therein, and the sea and the things therein, that there shall be time no longer;

¹⁷ And the seventh poured out his cup upon the air; and there came forth a loud voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying: It is done.

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say: Come. And let him that hears say: Come. And let him that thirsts, come; let him that will, take the water of life freely.

²⁹ And every one who forsook houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive manifold more, and shall inherit everlasting life.

³⁴ Then will the King say to those on his right hand: Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

¹⁷ And as he was going forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeling to him, and asked him: Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

¹⁵ For ye did not receive the spirit of bondage, again to fear; but ye received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God; ¹⁷ and if children, also heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

²¹ So then, let no one glory in men. For all things are yours; ²² whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come, all are yours; ²³ and ye are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy begot us again unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead; ⁴ unto an inheritance imperishable, and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you,

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary blessing, because to this end ye were called, that ye might inherit blessing.

¹ BEHOLD what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. For this cause the world knows not us, because it knew not him. ² Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it was never yet manifested what we shall be. We know that if it shall be manifested, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. ³ And every one, that has this hope on him, purifies himself even as he is pure.

⁷ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes, to him I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

²⁸ And be not afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

⁴ And I say to you, my friends, be not afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. ⁵ But I will warn you whom ye shall fear; fear him, who after he has killed has power to cast into hell; yea, I say to you, fear him. ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? And not one of them is forgotten before God. ⁷ But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; ye are of more value than many sparrows. ⁸ And I say to you: Every one that shall acknowledge me before men, him will the Son of man also acknowledge before the angels of God; ⁹ but he that denied me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the Devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abides not in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own; because he is a liar, and the father of it.

⁴² Yet, even of the rulers many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not acknowledge him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; ⁴³ for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

⁹ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁰ Nay; but that what they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I would not that ye should be partakers of the demons. ²¹ Ye can not drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons; ye can not share in the table of the Lord, and the table of demons.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest; which are, fornication, uncleanness, wantonness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, emulation, wraths, contentions, divisions, factions, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings; and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁵ For this ye know, being aware that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with vain words; for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.

⁹ [him,] whose coming is after the working of Satan, in all power and signs and lying wonders,

⁹ knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and unruly, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers; for man-slayers, ¹⁰ for fornicators, for those who defile themselves with mankind, for enslavers of men, for liars, for false swearers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teachings;

² of those who speak lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

²⁴ and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better than Abel.

⁴ Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

¹⁴ But if ye even suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye; but fear not with their fear, nor be troubled; ¹⁵ but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts; ready always to give an answer to every one that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

²² Who is the liar, but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son.

¹⁵ Every one that hates his brother is a murderer; and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

¹⁰ He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that believes not God has made him a liar; because he has not believed in the witness which God has borne concerning his Son.

² I know thy works, and thy labor and patience, and how thou canst not bear evil men; and thou didst try those who say they are apostles, and are not, and didst find them liars;

²¹ and they repented not of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his presence, with which he led astray those who received the mark of the beast, and who warship his image. The two were cast alive into the lake of fire, that burns with brimstone.

¹⁴ And death and the underworld were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if any one was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

¹⁵ without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loves and makes a lie.

¹ AND I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having seven plagues; which are the last, because in them is completed the wrath of God. ² And I saw as it were a sea of glass, mingled with fire; and those who had gained the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over the number of his name, standing by the sea of glass, having harps of God. ³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God the Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of the nations. ⁴ Who shall not fear, O Lord, and glorify thy name? Because thou alone art holy; because all the nations shall come and worship before thee; because thy judgments are made manifest. ⁵ And after these things I saw, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened; ⁶ and there came forth the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure, shining linen, and girded about the breasts with golden girdles. ⁷ And one of the four animals gave to the seven angels seven golden cups, full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.

They are worthy. ⁷ And I heard, out of the altar, one saying: Even so, Lord God the Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. ⁸ And the fourth poured out his cup upon the sun; and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. ⁹ And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, who has the power over these plagues, and repented not, to give him glory. ¹⁰ And the fifth poured out his cup upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, ¹¹ and blasphemed the God of heaven, because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their works. ¹² And the sixth poured out his cup upon the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, that the way of the kings, who are from the rising of the sun, might be prepared. ¹³ And I saw come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits as frogs; ¹⁴ for they are spirits of demons, working signs, which go forth over the kings of the whole habitable world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God the Almighty. ¹⁵ Behold, I come as a thief. Happy is he that watches, and keeps his garments, that he may not walk naked and they see his shame. ¹⁶ And they gathered them into the place called in the Hebrew tongue, Armageddon. ¹⁷ And the seventh poured out his cup upon the air; and there came forth a loud voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying: It is done.

² I know a man in Christ, above fourteen years ago (whether in the body I know not, or whether out of the body I know not, God knows) such a one caught up even to the third heaven. ³ And I know such a man (whether in the body or without the body I know not, God knows), ⁴ that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

³ And he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet beast, full of the names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

³ And he who sat was like in appearance to a jasper and sardine stone; and there was a rainbow round the throne, like in appearance to an emerald;

⁶ and before the throne as it were a sea of glass like to crystal; and in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, four animals full of eyes before and behind.

⁸ And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no one was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels should be completed.

¹⁰ Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say to you, that their angels in heaven always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁰ So, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.

²² And it came to pass, that the beggar died; and he was borne away by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried;

⁷ unto which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving day and night, hope to attain; concerning which hope, O king, I am accused by Jews.

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth for ministration, for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?

⁴ And I heard the number of the sealed. A hundred and forty-four thousand were sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel. ⁵ out of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand; ⁶ out of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand; ⁷ out of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand; ⁸ out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand, were sealed.

¹⁷ And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, which is that of an angel. ¹⁸ And the structure of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like to pure glass. ¹⁹ The foundation-stones of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation-stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each several gate was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as transparent glass.

²⁵ And its gates will not be shut by day; for there will be no night there;

² And the names of the twelve apostles are these; first Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; ³ Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus surnamed Thaddeus; ⁴ Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

¹⁸ And I also say to thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of the underworld shall not prevail against it.

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master-builder I laid a foundation, and another builds thereon. But let each one take heed how he builds thereon. ¹¹ For other foundation can no one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

⁹ and having learned the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas right hands of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcision;

²⁰ having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner-stone;

⁵ which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;

¹¹ And he gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers;

¹⁷ But ye, beloved, remember the words which were before spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

²⁰ Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints, ye apostles, and ye prophets; because God judged your cause upon her.

¹ AND there was given me a reed, like to a staff, saying: Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and those who worship therein. ² And the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; because it was given to the Gentiles, and they will tread down the holy city forty-two months.

¹⁸ Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count up the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred and sixty-six.

³ And they sing as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four animals and the elders; and no one was able to learn the song, except the hundred and forty-four thousand, who are redeemed from the earth.

⁹ And there came one from among the seven angels, who have the seven cups full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying: Come hither; I will show thee the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

¹¹ having the glory of God; her luminary like to a most precious stone, as it were to a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant seeking goodly pearls; ⁴⁶ and having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

⁴ And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication.

¹⁶ saying: Alas, alas, the great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stone, and pearls;

¹¹ having the glory of God; her luminary like to a most precious stone, as it were to a jasper stone, clear as crystal; ¹² having a wall great and high; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel;

¹⁸ And the structure of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like to pure glass.

² In the midst of its street, and on either side of the river, was a tree of life, bearing twelve fruits, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

¹⁹ Jesus answered and said to them: Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. ²⁰ Therefore said the Jews: Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? ²¹ But he said it of the temple of his body.

²¹ Jesus says to her: Woman, believe me, an hour is coming, when ye shall neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father.

²³ But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such the Father seeks to worship him.

³⁰ I and the Father are one.

¹⁹ For He was pleased, that in him should all the fullness dwell;

⁹ Because in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

¹ NOW the first had indeed also ordinances of service, and the worldly sanctuary. ² For a tabernacle was prepared; the first, wherein is the lamp-stand, and the table, and the show-bread; which is called holy. ³ And after the second vail, the tabernacle which is called most holy, ⁴ having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on every side with gold, wherein was the golden pot containing the manna, and the rod of Aaron which budded, and the tables of the covenant; ⁵ and above it the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy-seat; of which we can not now speak particularly. ⁶ Now these things being thus prepared, into the first tabernacle the priests enter at all times, performing the services; ⁷ but into the second, the high priest alone, once every year, not without blood, which he offers for himself, and for the errors of the people; ⁸ the Holy Spirit signifying this, that the way into the holy places has not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is yet standing; ⁹ which is a figure for the time present, under which are offered both gifts and sacrifices, unable as to the conscience to perfect the worshiper; ¹⁰ only with meats and drinks, and divers immersions, ordinances of the flesh, imposed until the time of reformation. ¹¹ But Christ, having come as a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands (that is, not of this creation), ¹² and not through the blood of goats and calves but through his own blood, entered once for all into the holy places, obtaining eternal redemption.

⁸ And the four animals had each of them six wings apiece; around and within they are full of eyes; and they have no rest by day and by night, saying: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God the Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come.

⁶ And I saw, in the midst of the throne and of the four animals, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as if having been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

¹⁷ saying: We give thanks to thee, O Lord God the Almighty, who art, and who wast; because thou hast taken thy great power, and didst reign.

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God the Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of the nations.

⁷ And I heard, out of the altar, one saying: Even so, Lord God the Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

¹⁴ for they are spirits of demons, working signs, which go forth over the kings of the whole habitable world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God the Almighty.

¹⁵ And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he may smite the nations; and he will rule them with a rod of iron; and he treads the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of God the Almighty.

⁴ And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, nor shall mourning, nor crying, nor pain be any more; because the former things are passed away. ⁵ And he who sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And he says: Write; because these words are faithful and true.

²⁷ For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then he will reward each one according to his works.

³⁸ For whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will also the Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

³² a light for a revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

⁹ There was the true light, which lights every man that comes into the world.

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he declared him.

²³ that all may honor the Son, as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son, honors not the Father who sent him.

²⁴ Father, those whom thou hast given me, I will that where I am they also be with me; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me; because thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

¹¹ And as I could not see, for the glory of that light, being led by the hand by those who were with me, I came into Damascus.

¹ AFTER these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

¹⁰ And again he says: Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. ¹¹ And again: Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; And extol him, all ye peoples. ¹² And again, Isaiah says: There shall be the root of Jesse, And he who rises up to rule the Gentiles; On him will Gentiles hope.

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest in the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles may be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia thought it good, to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who were at Jerusalem.

²⁶ and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.

²³ And the city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine on it; for the glory of God lightened it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. ²⁴ And the nations will walk by its light; and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it.

⁴¹ The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all the causes of offense, and those who do iniquity,

⁵ For this ye know, being aware that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

³ Yea, I entreat thee also, true yoke-fellow, help these women, who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow-laborers, whose names are in the book of life.

¹⁴ Follow peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord;

⁵ He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, and I will acknowledge his name before my Father, and before his angels.

⁸ And all who dwell upon the earth will worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb which is slain, from the foundation of the world.

⁴ And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication. ⁵ And upon her forehead was a name written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

¹² And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. And books were opened; and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life; and the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works.

¹⁵ And if any one was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

⁸ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and defiled with abominations, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

¹⁴ Happy are they who wash their robes, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. ¹⁵ without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loves and makes a lie.
