¹ AND a great sign was seen in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. ² And being with child she cries out, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. ³ And another sign was seen in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns. ⁴ And his tail drags the third part of the stars of heaven; and it cast them to the earth. And the dragon stands before the woman who was about to bring forth, that when she has brought forth, he may devour her child. ⁵ And she brought forth a man-child, who will rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne. ⁶ And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they may nourish her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days. ⁷ And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting with the dragon. And the dragon fought, and his angels, ⁸ and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. ⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who leads astray the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: Now is come the salvation, and the strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; because the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they overcame him, because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life, unto the death. ¹² For this cause rejoice, ye heavens, and they who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea! For the Devil is come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has little time. ¹³ And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the man-child. ¹⁴ And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. ¹⁵ And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. ¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman; and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. ¹⁷ And the dragon was enraged at the woman; and he departed to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus.

³⁸ Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered him saying: Teacher, we desire to see a sign from thee.

³⁰ And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

²⁵ and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

¹¹ and there will be great earthquakes, and in divers places famines and pestilences; and there will be great portents and signs from heaven.

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and waves;

²⁹ He that has the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This my joy therefore is made full.

¹⁹ And I will show wonders in heaven above, And signs in the earth beneath, Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.

²² a righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all that believe; (for there is no difference;

¹⁴ but put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

² For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy; for I espoused you to one husband, that I may present a chaste virgin to Christ.

²⁷ For all ye who were immersed unto Christ, did put on Christ.

¹⁴ But far be it from me to glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, as also Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for it; ²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the bathing of water in the word, ²⁷ that he might himself present to himself the church, glorious, having no spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and blameless.

³² This mystery is great; but I am speaking of Christ and of the church.

¹¹ For the saving grace of God appeared to all men, ¹² teaching us that, having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

²⁰ the mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest on my right hand, and the seven golden lamp-stands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches; and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churches.

¹⁹ And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple; and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and a great hail.

³ And another sign was seen in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.

¹ AND I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having seven plagues; which are the last, because in them is completed the wrath of God.

¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundation-stones, and on them twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

²³ And the city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine on it; for the glory of God lightened it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

²¹ A woman when she is in travail has sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she has borne the child, she remembers no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

¹⁹ My little children, of whom I travail again in birth, until Christ be formed in you!

²⁷ For it is written: Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not; Because many are the children of the desolate, rather than of her who has the husband.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who leads astray the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

¹⁷ And the dragon was enraged at the woman; and he departed to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus.

¹³ And I saw come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits as frogs;

³ And he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet beast, full of the names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. ⁴ And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication.

⁷ And the angel said to me: Wherefore didst thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.

⁹ Here is the mind that has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. ¹⁰ And they are seven kings; the five are fallen, and the one is; the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little time.

¹² And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, who received no kingdom as yet; but receive authority as kings one hour, along with the beast.

¹⁶ And the ten horns, and the beast, these will hate the harlot, and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her up with fire.

¹² His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, which no one knows but he himself.

² And he laid hold of the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

³ And the king, Herod, hearing it, was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And having assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ should be born. ⁵ And they said to him: In Bethlehem of Judaea; for thus it is written by the prophet: ⁶ And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, Art by no means least among the princes of Judah; For out of thee shall come forth a Governor, Who shall rule my people Israel. ⁷ Then Herod, having secretly called the wise men, inquired of them exactly the time of the appearing of the star. ⁸ And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said: Go and inquire strictly concerning the child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I also may come and do him homage. ⁹ And they, having heard the king, departed; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the child was. ¹⁰ And seeing the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. ¹¹ And coming into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and did homage to him; and opening their treasures, they presented to him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. ¹² And being warned by God in a dream, not to return to Herod, they departed into their own country by another way. ¹³ And when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream, saying: Arise, and take the child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be there until I bring thee word; for Herod is about to seek the child to destroy him. ¹⁴ And he arose and took the child and his mother by night and departed into Egypt, ¹⁵ and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: Out of Egypt I called my son. ¹⁶ Then Herod, seeing that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly enraged; and he sent forth, and slew all the male children that were in Bethlehem, and in all its borders, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had exactly learned from the wise men.

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the Devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abides not in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own; because he is a liar, and the father of it.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour;

⁷ The first sounded; and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast into the earth, and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

¹⁰ And they have tails like to scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men, five months.

¹⁹ For the power of the horses is in their mouth, and in their tails; for their tails are like to serpents, having heads, and with them they do hurt.

¹⁸ And the woman which thou sawest is the great city, which has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.

²⁵ and he knew her not till she brought forth a son; and he called his name Jesus.

¹⁹ The Lord therefore, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down on the right hand of God;

² I know a man in Christ, above fourteen years ago (whether in the body I know not, or whether out of the body I know not, God knows) such a one caught up even to the third heaven.

²⁶ And he that overcomes, and he that keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; ²⁷ and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of a potter are they dashed in pieces, as I also have received from my Father;

¹² And they heard a loud voice out of heaven, saying to them: Come up hither. And they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies beheld them.

² And being with child she cries out, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

¹⁵ And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he may smite the nations; and he will rule them with a rod of iron; and he treads the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of God the Almighty.

¹¹ Then the Devil leaves him; and behold, angels came and ministered to him.

² And the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; because it was given to the Gentiles, and they will tread down the holy city forty-two months. ³ And I will give [power] to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

¹⁴ And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

⁵ And there was given to him a mouth speaking great and blasphemous things; and power was given him to work forty-two months.

⁴¹ The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all the causes of offense, and those who do iniquity,

²⁷ For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then he will reward each one according to his works.

³¹ And he will send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his chosen from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

⁴¹ Then will he say also to those on the left hand: Depart from me, accursed, into the everlasting fire; prepared for the Devil and his angels.

⁵³ Thinkest thou that I can not now pray to my Father, and he will send me more than twelve legions of angels?

⁷ And that I might not be exalted overmuch through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I might not be exalted overmuch.

¹² For to us, the contest is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places.

⁷ and to you who are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power,

¹⁰ For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

⁴ For if God spared not angels, having sinned, but casting them down to hell delivered them over to chains of darkness, reserved unto judgment;

⁹ But Michael the archangel, when, contending with the Devil, he disputed concerning the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a railing judgment, but said: The Lord rebuke thee.

⁷ And it was given him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them; and power was given him over every tribe, and tongue, and nation.

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he who sat upon him, called Faithful and True; and in righteousness he judges, and makes war. ¹² His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, which no one knows but he himself. ¹³ And he was clothed with a garment dipped in blood; and his name is called, The Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white, pure. ¹⁵ And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he may smite the nations; and he will rule them with a rod of iron; and he treads the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of God the Almighty. ¹⁶ And he has on his garment, and on his thigh, a name written: KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. ¹⁷ And I saw an angel standing in the sun. And he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven: Come, and gather yourselves together to the great supper of God; ¹⁸ that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains of thousands, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all, both free and bond, both small and great. ¹⁹ And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war with him who sat on the horse, and with his army. ²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his presence, with which he led astray those who received the mark of the beast, and who warship his image. The two were cast alive into the lake of fire, that burns with brimstone.

¹⁸ And I also say to thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of the underworld shall not prevail against it.

²⁵ that he may take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell away, that he might go to his own place.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who shall be against us? ³² He who spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's chosen? God is he that justifies; ³⁴ who is he that condemns? Christ is he that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written: For, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for slaughter. ³⁷ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, ³⁹ neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁶ And angels who kept not their principality, but left their own habitation, he has kept in everlasting chains under darkness, unto the judgment of the great day.

¹¹ And they overcame him, because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life, unto the death.

¹ THEN Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the Devil.

⁵ Then the Devil takes him into the holy city, and sets him on the pinnacle of the temple,

⁸ Again the Devil takes him into an exceedingly high mountain, and shows him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

¹⁰ Then Jesus says to him: Get thee hence, Satan; for it is written: Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

³⁹ and the enemy that sowed them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are angels.

²⁴ For there will arise false Christs, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so as, if possible, to lead even the chosen astray.

¹² Those by the way-side are they that hear; after that comes the Devil, and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.

¹⁸ And he said to them: I beheld Satan fall as lightning from heaven.

¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan bound, lo, eighteen years, to be loosed from this bond on the sabbath?

³ And Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

³¹ And the Lord said: Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked for you, to sift as the wheat.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

³⁰ I will no longer talk much with you; for the prince of the world comes, and in me he has nothing.

¹¹ of judgment, in that the prince of this world has been judged.

³ But Peter said: Ananias, why did Satan fill thy heart, that thou shouldst lie to the Holy Spirit, and keep back part of the price of the land?

¹⁸ to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may obtain forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among the sanctified, by faith in me.

¹⁸ For they that are such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

²⁰ And the God of peace will shortly bruise Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

¹¹ that no advantage might be gained over us by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

⁴ in whom the god of this world blinded the understandings of the unbelieving, that they should not discern the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

³ But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve by his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from your simplicity toward Christ.

¹⁴ And no wonder; for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

¹⁴ that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, by cunning craftiness after the wily manner of error;

³ Let not any one deceive you in any manner; because [that day will not come], except there come first the falling away, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

⁹ [him,] whose coming is after the working of Satan, in all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and in all deceit of unrighteousness for those who perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God sends them a working of delusion, in order that they may believe the lie;

¹⁴ And Adam was not deceived; but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into transgression.

⁶ not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the Devil. ⁷ But he must also have a good testimony from those without, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the Devil.

¹³ But evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

¹⁴ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner took part in the same; that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the Devil;

⁸ He that commits sin is of the Devil; because the Devil sins from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the Devil. ⁹ Whoever has been begotten of God does not commit sin; because his seed abides in him; and he can not sin, because he has been begotten of God. ¹⁰ In this are manifest the children of God, and the children of the Devil. Every one that does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother;

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and the whole world is lying in the evil one.

⁹ I know thy affliction, and poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

¹³ I know where thou dwellest, where the throne of Satan is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny the faith in me, even in the days in which Antipas was my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

²⁴ But to you I say, the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, who knew not the depths of Satan, as they speak: I put upon you no other burden;

⁹ Behold, I make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie, behold, I will make them to come and bow down before thy feet, and to know that I loved thee.

¹ AND the fifth angel sounded; and I saw a star fallen out of heaven to the earth, and there was given to him the key of the pit of the abyss.

²⁰ And the rest of men, who were not killed in these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk;

⁷ And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting with the dragon. And the dragon fought, and his angels,

¹⁴ and he leads astray those who dwell on the earth, because of the signs which it was given him to do in the presence of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which has the wound of the sword, and lived.

¹⁴ for they are spirits of demons, working signs, which go forth over the kings of the whole habitable world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God the Almighty.

² And he cried with a strong voice, saying: Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

²³ and the light of a lamp shall shine in thee no more; and the voice of bridegroom and of bride shall be heard in thee no more; because thy merchants were the great men of the earth; because by thy sorcery all the nations were led astray.

²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his presence, with which he led astray those who received the mark of the beast, and who warship his image. The two were cast alive into the lake of fire, that burns with brimstone.

⁸ and will go out to mislead the nations that are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

¹⁰ And the Devil who misleads them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

¹⁰ Thy kingdom come; thy will be done, as in heaven, so also on the earth.

⁶⁴ Jesus says to him: Thou saidst it. But I say to you, hereafter ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying: All power was given to me in heaven and on earth.

² And he said to them: When ye pray, say; Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.

⁴ in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ye being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁹ And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee; for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may abide upon me.

³ that aged women likewise be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;

²⁶ And he that overcomes, and he that keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations;

¹⁰ And they cry with a loud voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded; and there followed loud voices in heaven, saying: The kingdom of the world is become our Lord's, and his Christ's; and he will reign forever and ever.

¹ AFTER these things, I heard as it were a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, of those saying: Alleluia; the salvation, and the glory, and the power, are our God's; ² because true and righteous are his judgments; because he judged the great harlot, who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. ³ And a second time they said: Alleluia. And her smoke goes up forever and ever. ⁴ And the twenty-four elders, and the four animals, fell down and worshiped God, who sits on the throne, saying: Amen; Alleluia. ⁵ And a voice came out from the throne, saying: Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye who fear him, the small and the great. ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of mighty thunders, saying: Alleluia; because the Lord God the Almighty reigns. ⁷ Let us rejoice and exult, and we will give to him the glory; because the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife made herself ready.

²⁶ If any one comes to me, and hates not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and even his own life besides, he can not be my disciple.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the good news of the grace of God.

¹³ Then answered Paul: What mean ye, to weep and to break my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus.

⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ.

³ For though walking in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh; ⁴ (for the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty before God to the pulling down of strongholds) ⁵ casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

¹³ Therefore take on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having fully done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girded your loins about with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness; ¹⁵ and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ¹⁶ in addition to all, having taken on the shield of faith, in which ye will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. ¹⁷ And receive the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; ¹⁸ praying at every fitting season in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; ⁸ henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me in that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

¹⁴ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner took part in the same; that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the Devil; ¹⁵ and might deliver those who, through fear of death, were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

³⁵ Women received their dead, by resurrection to life; and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. ³⁶ And others had trial of mockings, and scourgings, and, moreover, of bonds and imprisonment. ³⁷ They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword; they went about in sheep-skins and goats' skins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented; ³⁸ of whom the world was not worthy; wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the clefts of the earth.

¹³ I write to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil one. I wrote to you, little children, because ye know the Father. ¹⁴ I wrote to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and ye have overcome the evil one.

⁴ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you, than he who is in the world.

⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

² who testified of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, of whatever things he saw.

⁹ I, John, your brother, and partner with you in the affliction, and kingdom, and patient endurance in Jesus, was in the island called Patmos, on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

⁷ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes, to him I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

¹⁰ Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer. Behold, the Devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye will have affliction ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life. ¹¹ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He that overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.

¹⁷ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna; and I will give to him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he that receives it.

⁵ He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, and I will acknowledge his name before my Father, and before his angels.

¹² He that overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.

²¹ He that overcomes, I will give to him to sit with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.

⁹ And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those slain on account of the word of God, and on account of the testimony which they had.

¹⁰ And they cry with a loud voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb. ¹¹ And all the angels were standing round the throne and the elders and the four animals, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God, ¹² saying: Amen; the blessing, and the glory, and the wisdom, and the thanksgiving, and the honor, and the power, and the might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen. ¹³ And one of the elders answered, saying to me: These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I said to him: Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me: These are they who come out of the great affliction, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

⁷ And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and will overcome them, and will kill them.

¹⁷ And the dragon was enraged at the woman; and he departed to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus.

¹ AND I saw, and behold, the Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. ² And I heard a voice out of heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of loud thunder; the voice which I heard was as that of harpers, harping with their harps. ³ And they sing as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four animals and the elders; and no one was able to learn the song, except the hundred and forty-four thousand, who are redeemed from the earth. ⁴ These are they who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they who follow the Lamb, whithersoever he goes. These were redeemed from men, a first-fruits to God and to the Lamb.

² And I saw as it were a sea of glass, mingled with fire; and those who had gained the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over the number of his name, standing by the sea of glass, having harps of God. ³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God the Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of the nations.

¹⁰ And I fell before his feet to worship him. And he said to me: See thou do it not. I am a fellow-servant of thee and of thy brethren who have the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them; and the souls of those beheaded on account of the testimony of Jesus, and on account of the word of God, and whoever did not worship the beast, neither his image, and did not receive the mark upon the forehead, or upon their hand; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

¹⁴ Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will among men.

¹⁰ So, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.

³⁷ For yet a little while, he that is to come will come, and will not delay.

⁸ But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

¹³ And I saw, and heard an eagle flying in mid-heaven, saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe, to those who dwell upon the earth, by reason of the remaining voices of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!

¹² The first woe is past; behold, there come yet two woes, after these things.

⁶ and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things therein, and the earth and the things therein, and the sea and the things therein, that there shall be time no longer;

¹⁰ And they who dwell on the earth rejoice ever them, and are glad; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

¹⁴ The second woe is past; behold, the third woe comes quickly.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints, ye apostles, and ye prophets; because God judged your cause upon her.

³ And another sign was seen in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns. ⁴ And his tail drags the third part of the stars of heaven; and it cast them to the earth. And the dragon stands before the woman who was about to bring forth, that when she has brought forth, he may devour her child. ⁵ And she brought forth a man-child, who will rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne. ⁶ And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they may nourish her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.

³ And he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet beast, full of the names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

¹⁵ And he says to me: The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes, and nations and tongues.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you alway, unto the end of the world.

¹ I ALSO, when I came to you, brethren, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.

³ And in this we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

² In this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and do his commandments.

¹⁰ He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that believes not God has made him a liar; because he has not believed in the witness which God has borne concerning his Son.

¹¹ And they overcame him, because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life, unto the death. ¹² For this cause rejoice, ye heavens, and they who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea! For the Devil is come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has little time.

¹² Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus; and I wondered when I saw her, with great wonder.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them; because he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they who are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

¹⁹ And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war with him who sat on the horse, and with his army.

⁸ and will go out to mislead the nations that are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. ⁹ And they went up upon the breadth of the earth, and encompassed the camp of the saints, and the beloved city; and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

¹⁴ Happy are they who wash their robes, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
