How is it that ye have no faith? ⁴¹ And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another: Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

⁴⁸ And he saw them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them. And about the fourth watch of the night he comes to them, walking on the sea, and would have passed by them. ⁴⁹ And they seeing him walking on the sea, supposed it was a spectre, and cried out; ⁵⁰ for all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and says to them: Be of good cheer; it is I, be not afraid. ⁵¹ And he went up to them into the ship; and the wind ceased. And they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

²⁴ And coming to him, they awoke him, saying: Master, Master, we perish. And he, rising, rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; and they ceased, and there was a calm. ²⁵ And he said to them: Where is your faith? And they, fearing, wondered; saying one to another: Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him!
