²³ Whosesoever sins ye remit, they are remitted to them; and whosesoever ye retain, they are retained.

¹⁹ And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

¹⁸ Verily I say to you: Whatever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

⁵ And Jesus, seeing their faith, says to the palsied man: Child, thy sins are forgiven. ⁶ But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts: ⁷ Why does this man speak thus? He blasphemes. Who can forgive sins but one, God? ⁸ And Jesus, immediately perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them: Why reason ye these things in your hearts? ⁹ Which is easier, to say to the palsied man, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? ¹⁰ But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (he says to the palsied man,)

³⁸ And Peter said to them: Repent, and be each of you immersed, upon the name of Jesus Christ, unto remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

⁴³ To him all the prophets bear witness, that through his name every one who believes on him shall receive remission of sins.

³⁸ Be it known to you therefore, men, brethren, that remission of sins through this man is announced to you; ³⁹ and by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye were not able to be justified by the law of Moses.

⁴ in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ye being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁶ Sufficient for such a one is this punishment, which was inflicted by the many. ⁷ So that, on the contrary, ye ought rather to forgive and console him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. ⁸ Wherefore I beseech you to confirm your love toward him. ⁹ For to this end also I wrote, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye are obedient in all things. ¹⁰ To whom ye forgive anything, I forgive also; for what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, for your sakes I forgave it in the person of Christ,

²⁰ having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner-stone;

²⁰ Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I delivered over to Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme.
