²² Moses said: A Prophet will the Lord your God raise up to you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatever he shall say to you.

⁴ And Peter answering said to Jesus: Lord, it is good for us to be here. If thou wilt, let us make here three tents; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. ⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

⁴ And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus. ⁵ And Peter answering said to Jesus: Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tents, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. ⁶ For he knew not what to say; for they were sore afraid. ⁷ And there came a cloud overshadowing them; and a voice came out of the cloud: This is my beloved Son; hear ye him.

³⁰ And, behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah; ³¹ who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to fulfill in Jerusalem. ³² But Peter and they who were with him were heavy with sleep; and awaking, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. ³³ And it came to pass, that, as they were departing from him, Peter said to Jesus: Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tents, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah; not knowing what he said. ³⁴ While he said this, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them; and they feared as they entered into the cloud. ³⁵ And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my chosen Son; hear ye him.

³³ But yet, I must go to-day, and to-morrow, and the day following; because it may not be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

¹⁹ And he said to them: What things? And they said to him: The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, he that hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has everlasting life, and comes not into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

³⁹ Search the Scriptures; because in them ye think ye have eternal life, and these are they that testify of me; ⁴⁰ and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life. ⁴¹ I receive not honor from men. ⁴² But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. ⁴³ I have come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. ⁴⁴ How can ye believe, receiving honor from one another, and the honor that is from God alone ye seek not? ⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one that accuses you, Moses in whom ye have placed your hope. ⁴⁶ For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me. ⁴⁷ But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

¹² Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying: I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.

⁴⁶ I have come a light into the world, that whoever believes on me may not abide in the darkness.

³⁷ This is the Moses who said to the children of Israel: A Prophet will God raise up to you of your brethren, like unto.

³ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh;

⁵ whose are the fathers, and of whom as to the flesh is Christ, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

⁴ But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his son, born of a woman, born under law,

¹ GOD, who in many parts and in many ways spoke of old to the fathers by the prophets, ² in these last days spoke to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, by whom he also made the worlds;

¹ ON this account, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things heard, lest haply we should let them slip.

⁹ But we behold him, who was made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, on account of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, in order that he by the grace of God might taste death for every one. ¹⁰ For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. ¹¹ For both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying: I will declare thy name to my brethren; In the midst of the congregation I will sing praise to thee. ¹³ And again: I will put my trust in him. And again: Behold, I and the children whom God gave me. ¹⁴ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner took part in the same; that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the Devil; ¹⁵ and might deliver those who, through fear of death, were all their lifetime subject to bondage. ¹⁶ For surely he does not succor angels; but he succors the seed of Abraham. ¹⁷ Wherefore, in all things it became him to be made like to his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

⁹ and being perfected became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey him;

¹ THE Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show to his servants what things must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John;
