2 Timothy 1 Cross References - ABU

1 PAUL, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2 to Timothy, a beloved child: Grace, mercy, peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; 4 longing to see thee, remembering thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 5 calling to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that it dwells in thee also. 6 For which cause I put thee in remembrance, that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the laying on of my hands. 7 For God did not give us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of chastisement. 8 Be not then ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship with me for the gospel, according to the power of God; 9 who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose, and the grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before eternal ages, 10 but now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ; who abolished death, and brought life and incorruption to light through the gospel; 11 for which I was appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12 For which cause I suffer also these things. But I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him, unto that day. 13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou heardest from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 14 The good thing committed to thee keep, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. 15 Thou knowest this, that all those in Asia turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. 16 The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; because he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain; 17 but when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. 18 The Lord grant to him, that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day! And in how many things he ministered to me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

Enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 And he also that received the two talents came and said: Lord, thou deliveredst to me two talents; behold, I gained other two talents beside them. 23 His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant; thou wast faithful over a little, I will set thee over much. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24 And he also that received the one talent came and said: Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou strewedst not. 25 And fearing, I went and hid thy talent in the earth. Lo, thou hast thine own. 26 And his lord answering said to him: Wicked and slothful servant! Thou knewest that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I strewed not? 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers; and when I came, I should have received my own with interest. 28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give to him that has the ten talents. 29 For to every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him that has not, even what he has shall be taken away. 30 And cast forth the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. 29 Because whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. 30 And whom he predestined, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who shall be against us? 32 He who spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's chosen? God is he that justifies; 34 who is he that condemns? Christ is he that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: For, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, 39 neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

5 Even so then, at this present time also, there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, it is no longer of works; otherwise, grace becomes no longer grace.
