⁸ I desire, therefore, that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing;

²² But I say to you, that every one who is angry with his brother, without cause, shall be in danger of the judgment; and whoever shall say to his brother, Raca! shall be in danger of the council; and whoever shall say, Thou fool! shall be in danger of hell-fire. ²³ Therefore if thou bringest thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother has aught against thee; ²⁴ leave there thy gift before the altar, and go, first be reconciled to thy brother and then come and offer thy gift.

⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you;

¹² And forgive us our debts, as also we forgave our debtors.

¹⁴ For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; ¹⁵ but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

²¹ And Jesus answering said to them: Verily I say to you, if ye have faith, and do not doubt, not only shall ye do what is done to the fig-tree, but even if ye say to this mountain, be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done.

²³ Verily I say to you, that whoever shall say to this mountain: Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he says comes to pass, he shall have it. ²⁴ Therefore I say to you: All things whatever ye ask, when ye pray, believe that ye received, and ye shall have them. ²⁵ And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any one; that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

³⁴ And Jesus said: Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they divided his garments, casting lots.

⁴² And he said to Jesus: Remember me, when thou comest in thy kingdom. ⁴³ And Jesus said to him: Verily I say to thee, to-day thou shalt be with me in paradise.

⁵⁰ And he led them out as far as to Bethany; and lifting up his hands, he blessed them.

²¹ Jesus says to her: Woman, believe me, an hour is coming, when ye shall neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father.

²³ But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such the Father seeks to worship him. ²⁴ God is spirit; and they that worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth.

⁶⁰ And kneeling down, he cried with a loud voice: Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And saying this, he fell asleep.

⁴ And fixing his eyes on him, he was afraid, and said: What is it, Lord? And he said to him: Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

⁵ And when we had completed the days, we departed and went our way; they all accompanying us, with wives and children, till we were out of the city; and we kneeled down on the beach, and prayed.

⁷ But I would that all men were as myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one after this manner, and another after that.

¹⁴ I desire therefore that younger widows marry, bear children, guide the house, give no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

⁸ Faithful is the saying; and concerning these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they who have believed God may be careful to take the lead in good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

²² Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having had our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience; and having had our body washed with pure water,

⁶ But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering; for he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. ⁷ For let not that man suppose that he shall receive anything from the Lord; ⁸ a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

⁸ Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.

⁷ Ye husbands, in like manner, dwelling with them according to knowledge, giving honor to the female, as the weaker vessel, as also heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

²⁰ Because if our heart accuse us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart accuse us not, we have confidence toward God. ²² And whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
