¹ EVERY one who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten of God; and every one that loves him who begot, loves also him that has been begotten of him. ² In this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and do his commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome; ⁴ because all that is begotten of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? ⁶ This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus the Christ; not in the water only, but in the water and in the blood. And the Spirit is that which bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth. ⁷ For there are three who bear witness; the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; ⁸ and the three agree in the one. ⁹ If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God, that he has borne witness concerning his Son. ¹⁰ He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that believes not God has made him a liar; because he has not believed in the witness which God has borne concerning his Son. ¹¹ And this is the witness, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that has the Son has the life; he that has not the Son of God has not the life. ¹³ These things I wrote to you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, who believe on the name of the Son of God. ¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. ¹⁵ And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. ¹⁶ If any one see his brother sin a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and he will give him life,—to those who sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death; for that I do not say that he shall pray. ¹⁷ All unrighteousness is sin; and there is a sin not unto death. ¹⁸ We know that every one who has been begotten of God sins not; but he that was begotten of God keeps himself; and the evil one touches him not. ¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and the whole world is lying in the evil one. ²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us understanding, that we may know the True one; and we are in the True One, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. ²¹ Little children, keep yourselves from the idols.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answering said: Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

¹² But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe on his name; ¹³ who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

³ Jesus answered and said to him: Verily, verily, I say to thee, except a man be born again, he can not see the kingdom of God.

⁶⁹ And we believe and know, that thou art the Holy One of God.

⁴² Jesus said to them: If God were your father, ye would love me; for from God I came forth, and am come; neither have I come of myself, but he sent me.

²³ He that hates me hates my Father also.

³⁶ And as they went along the way, they came to a certain water. And the eunuch said: See, here is water; what hinders that I should be immersed?

⁹ because, if thou shalt profess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth profession is made unto salvation.

¹⁸ Of his own will he begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy begot us again unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead;

²² Having purified your souls in obeying the truth unto unfeigned brotherly love, love one another from the heart fervently; ²³ being born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the word of God, which lives and abides forever.

¹⁰ He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.

²² Who is the liar, but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ Every one that denies the Son, the same has not the Father; he that acknowledges the Son has also the Father.

²⁹ If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that does righteousness has been begotten of him.

⁹ Whoever has been begotten of God does not commit sin; because his seed abides in him; and he can not sin, because he has been begotten of God.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother abides in death.

¹⁷ But whoever has the world's sustenance, and sees his brother having need, and shuts up his pity from him, how abides the love of God in him?

² In this ye know the Spirit of God:

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God.

¹⁴ And we have seen, and bear witness, that the Father has sent forth the Son, a Savior of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

²⁰ If any one say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

⁴ because all that is begotten of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.

³⁴ A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; as I loved you, that ye also love one another. ³⁵ By this shall all know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one toward another.

¹⁷ These things I command you, that ye love one another.

⁵ But whoever keeps his word, of a truth in him the love of God is perfected. In this we know that we are in him.

²² And whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and should love one another, as he gave us commandment. ²⁴ And he that keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he abides in us, from the Spirit which he gave us.

²¹ And this commandment we have from him, that he who loves God love also his brother.

²⁸ Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest for your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.

⁴⁶ While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers were standing without, seeking to speak to him. ⁴⁷ And one said to him: Behold, thy mother and thy brothers are standing without, seeking to speak to thee. ⁴⁸ But he answering said to him that told him: Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? ⁴⁹ And stretching forth his hand toward his disciples, he said: Behold my mother and my brothers! ⁵⁰ For whoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

¹⁵ If ye love me, keep my commandments.

²¹ He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas says to him (not Iscariot): Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. ²⁴ He that loves me not, keeps not my words; and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

¹⁴ Ye are my friends, if ye do whatever I command you.

¹² So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

²² For I delight in the law of God after the inward man.

¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will establish for the house of Israel, After those days, saith the Lord, Putting my laws into their mind, And on their hearts I will write them; And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people;

³ And in this we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

⁶ And this is love, that we walk according to his commandment; and this is the commandment, as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written: For, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for slaughter. ³⁷ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹³ I write to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil one. I wrote to you, little children, because ye know the Father. ¹⁴ I wrote to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and ye have overcome the evil one. ¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things in the world. If any one loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ Because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the empty pomp of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world is passing away, and the lust thereof; but he that does the will of God abides forever.

⁴ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you, than he who is in the world.

⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁷ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes, to him I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

¹² He that overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.

²¹ He that overcomes, I will give to him to sit with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.

¹¹ And they overcame him, because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life, unto the death.

² And I saw as it were a sea of glass, mingled with fire; and those who had gained the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over the number of his name, standing by the sea of glass, having harps of God.

³¹ And I knew him not; but that he might be made manifest to Israel, for this I came immersing in water. ³² And John bore witness, saying: I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and it abode upon him. ³³ And I knew him not; but he who sent me to immerse in water, the same said to me: Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding on him, the same is he who immerses in the Holy Spirit.

⁵ Jesus answered: Verily, verily, I say to thee, except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her: If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that says to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁴ But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water, springing up into everlasting life.

⁵⁵ For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.

³⁸ He that believes on me, as said the Scripture, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. ³⁹ And this he spoke concerning the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet [given], because Jesus was not yet glorified.

⁶ Jesus says to him: I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, but by me.

¹⁷ the Spirit of truth, whom the world can not receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him; but ye know him, because he abides with you, and shall be in you.

²⁶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness of me.

¹³ But when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak from himself, but whatever he shall hear, that will he speak, and he will tell you the things to come.

³⁴ But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith there came out blood and water. ³⁵ And he that has seen has borne witness, and his witness is true, and he knows that he says what is true, that ye also might believe.

²⁵ whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith by his blood, for the exhibition of his righteousness, because of the passing over of the sins before committed in the forbearance of God;

⁷ in whom we have the redemption through his blood, the remission of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, as also Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for it; ²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the bathing of water in the word, ²⁷ that he might himself present to himself the church, glorious, having no spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and blameless.

⁴ having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have toward all the saints,

¹⁶ And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness; God was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the Gentiles, was believed on in the world, was received up in glory.

⁵ not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the bathing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit;

⁷ but into the second, the high priest alone, once every year, not without blood, which he offers for himself, and for the errors of the people;

¹⁴ how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, suppose ye, will he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has accounted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite to the Spirit of grace?

²⁴ and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better than Abel.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep in virtue of the blood of an eternal covenant,

² chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you.

²¹ which in an antitype, immersion, now saves us also (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the requirement of a good conscience toward God), by the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

⁷ but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son, a propitiation for our sins.

⁷ For there are three who bear witness; the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; ⁸ and the three agree in the one.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying: Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals; because thou wast slain, and didst redeem to God by thy blood out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;

¹⁴ And I said to him: Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me: These are they who come out of the great affliction, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹⁶ And having been immersed, Jesus went up immediately from the water; and lo, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending, as a dove, and coming upon him. ¹⁷ And lo, a voice out of heaven, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

¹⁶ But if he hear not, take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

¹⁹ Go therefore, and disciple all the nations, immersing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;

¹ IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

³² And John bore witness, saying: I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and it abode upon him. ³³ And I knew him not; but he who sent me to immerse in water, the same said to me: Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding on him, the same is he who immerses in the Holy Spirit. ³⁴ And I have seen, and have borne witness, that this is the Son of God.

²⁶ For as the Father has life in himself, so he gave also to the Son to have life in himself.

¹³ The Pharisees therefore said to him: Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy witness is not true. ¹⁴ Jesus answered and said to them: Though I bear witness of myself, my witness is true; because I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye know not whence I come, or whither I go.

¹⁸ I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness of me.

⁵⁴ Jesus answered: If I honor myself, my honor is nothing. It is my Father that honors me, of whom ye say, that he is your God.

³⁰ I and the Father are one.

³⁷ If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. ³⁸ But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works; that ye may learn and know, that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

²⁸ Father, glorify thy name. Then there came a voice out of heaven: I both have glorified it, and will glorify it again.

³³ Being therefore exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he poured forth this, which ye now see and hear.

³² And we are his witnesses of these things, and the Holy Spirit also, which God gave to those who obey him.

⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but the same God who works all in all.

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

³ how shall we escape, having neglected so great a salvation; which began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard, ⁴ God also bearing witness, with signs and wonders, and divers miracles, and distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

¹² For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ¹³ And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight; but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

¹ THAT which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked upon, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life;

⁶ This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus the Christ; not in the water only, but in the water and in the blood. And the Spirit is that which bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.

⁴ John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you, and peace, from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven spirits that are before his throne; ⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

¹³ And he was clothed with a garment dipped in blood; and his name is called, The Word of God.

²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took the loaf, and blessed, and broke, and gave to the disciples, and said: Take, eat; this is my body. ²⁷ And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying: Drink all ye of it. ²⁸ For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many, for remission of sins.

⁵⁶ For many bore false witness against him; but their testimonies agreed not together.

² And suddenly there came a sound out of heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ³ And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed among them; and it sat upon each of them. ⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

¹⁵ And with this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written:

¹⁶ The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God;

²² he who also sealed us, and gave the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

⁴ For it is impossible that they who have once been enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

¹² Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate.

⁶ This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus the Christ; not in the water only, but in the water and in the blood. And the Spirit is that which bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth. ⁷ For there are three who bear witness; the Spirit, and the water, and the blood;

³² And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and his testimony no one receives. ³³ He that received his testimony has set his seal, That God is true.

³¹ If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. ³² There is another that bears witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesses of me is true. ³³ Ye have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. ³⁴ But I receive the witness not from man; but these things I say, that ye might be saved. ³⁵ He was the burning and shining lamp; and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. ³⁶ But I have greater witness than that of John; for the works which the Father gave me to finish, the works themselves that I do bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me. ³⁷ And the Father, who sent me, he has borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor have ye seen his shape.

³⁹ Search the Scriptures; because in them ye think ye have eternal life, and these are they that testify of me;

¹⁷ It is written also in your law, that the witness of two men is true. ¹⁸ I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness of me. ¹⁹ They said therefore to him: Where is thy Father? Jesus answered: Ye know neither me, nor my Father. If ye knew me, ye would know my Father also.

³⁸ But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works; that ye may learn and know, that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

³¹ Because he fixed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness, by the man whom he appointed, having given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.

⁴ God also bearing witness, with signs and wonders, and divers miracles, and distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

¹⁸ that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible that God should lie, we may have strong encouragement, who fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us,

¹⁰ He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that believes not God has made him a liar; because he has not believed in the witness which God has borne concerning his Son.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes on him, should not perish, but may have everlasting life.

³³ He that received his testimony has set his seal, That God is true.

³⁸ And ye have not his word abiding in you; for whom he sent, him ye believe not.

⁶ And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

³ For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

¹² Take heed, brethren, lest there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

¹⁹ And we have more sure the prophetic word; to which ye do well that ye take heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts;

¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

²⁸ and I will give him the morning star.

¹⁷ And the dragon was enraged at the woman; and he departed to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus.

⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

¹⁹ And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him: Who art thou?

¹⁵ that every one who believes on him may have everlasting life. ¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes on him, should not perish, but may have everlasting life.

³⁶ He that believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he that believes not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

⁴ And he must go through Samaria.

³⁶ And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal; that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together.

²¹ For as the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; so also the Son quickens whom he will.

⁴⁰ For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁴⁷ Verily, verily, I say to you, he that believes on me has everlasting life.

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of eternal life.

²⁸ and I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, nor shall any one pluck them out of my hand.

²⁵ Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believes on me, though he be dead, yet shall he live; ²⁶ and whoever lives and believes on me, shall never die. Believest thou this?

⁵⁰ And I know that his commandment is everlasting life. What things I speak therefore, as the Father has said to me, so I speak.

² as thou gayest him authority over all flesh, that as many as thou hast given to him, to them he should give eternal life. ³ And this is the eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou didst send.

³⁵ And he that has seen has borne witness, and his witness is true, and he knows that he says what is true, that ye also might believe.

²¹ that as sin reigned in death, so also might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, in Jesus Christ our Lord.

³ For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, our life, shall be manifested, then will ye also with him be manifested in glory.

¹⁶ But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Christ Jesus might show forth all his long-suffering, for a pattern to those who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

² upon hope of eternal life, which God, who can not lie, promised before eternal ages,

¹ THAT which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked upon, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life; ² (and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;) ³ that which we have seen and have heard we report to you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

²⁵ And this is the promise which he himself promised to us, the life eternal.

⁹ In this was manifested the love of God in respect to us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

⁷ For there are three who bear witness; the Spirit, and the water, and the blood;

¹² He that has the Son has the life; he that has not the Son of God has not the life. ¹³ These things I wrote to you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, who believe on the name of the Son of God.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us understanding, that we may know the True one; and we are in the True One, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

¹² To Demetrius, testimony has been borne by all, and by the truth itself; yea, we also bear witness, and thou knowest that our witness is true.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto eternal life.

² who testified of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, of whatever things he saw.

¹ AND he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

¹⁶ He that believes and is immersed shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be condemned.

¹² But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe on his name;

¹⁵ that every one who believes on him may have everlasting life.

²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, he that hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has everlasting life, and comes not into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

³⁰ But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God was made wisdom to us, both righteousness and sanctification, and redemption;

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ; and no longer do I live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end.

²³ Every one that denies the Son, the same has not the Father; he that acknowledges the Son has also the Father. ²⁴ What ye heard from the beginning, let it abide in you. If what ye heard from the beginning shall abide in you, ye also will abide in the Son, and in the Father.

⁹ Every one who transgresses, and abides not in the teaching of Christ, has not God. He that abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.

²³ And when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, on the feast-day, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he wrought.

¹⁸ He that believes on him is not judged; but he that believes not has already been judged, because he has not believed on the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

³¹ But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.

²⁴ This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.

¹⁶ And his name, upon the faith in his name, made this man strong, whom ye see and know; and the faith, which is through Him, gave him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

¹² And there is salvation in no other; for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, in which we must be saved.

¹⁵ For ye did not receive the spirit of bondage, again to fear; but ye received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God; ¹⁷ and if children, also heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

¹ FOR we know that, if our earthly house of the tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

¹⁵ Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Christ Jesus might show forth all his long-suffering, for a pattern to those who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

¹² By Silvanus, the faithful brother, as I consider, I wrote to you in few words, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God, wherein ye stand.

¹⁰ Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall. ¹¹ For so shall be richly ministered to you the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

¹ THAT which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked upon, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life; ² (and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;)

⁴ And these things we write to you, that your joy may be full.

¹ MY little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin. And if any one have sinned, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

¹³ I write to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because ye have overcome the evil one. I wrote to you, little children, because ye know the Father. ¹⁴ I wrote to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and ye have overcome the evil one.

²¹ I wrote not to you because ye do not know the truth, but because ye know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

²⁶ These things I wrote to you concerning those who seduce you.

²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and should love one another, as he gave us commandment.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. ⁸ For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. ⁹ Or what man is there of you, of whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? ¹⁰ And if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? ¹¹ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him?

²² And all things whatever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

³¹ Now we know that God hears not sinners. But if any one is a worshiper of God, and does his will, him he hears.

⁴² And I knew that thou always hearest me; but for the sake of the multitude standing around I said it, that they might believe that thou didst send me.

¹³ And whatever ye shall ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

⁷ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever ye will, and it shall be done to you.

²⁴ Hitherto ye asked nothing in my name. Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be made full.

¹² in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in him.

⁶ but Christ as son over His house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the boldness and the joyousness of the hope firm unto the end.

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward.

⁵ But if any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally, and upbraids not, and it will be given him. ⁶ But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering; for he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.

³ ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

¹⁶ Confess therefore your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man avails much.

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in him; that, if he should be manifested, we may have confidence, and not turn away from him with shame at his coming.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart accuse us not, we have confidence toward God. ²² And whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

²⁴ Therefore I say to you: All things whatever ye ask, when ye pray, believe that ye received, and ye shall have them.

⁹ I also say to you: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. ¹⁰ For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

¹⁸ We know that every one who has been begotten of God sins not; but he that was begotten of God keeps himself; and the evil one touches him not. ¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and the whole world is lying in the evil one. ²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us understanding, that we may know the True one; and we are in the True One, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

³¹ Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven to men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. ³² And whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come.

²⁸ Verily I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and the blasphemies wherewith they shall blaspheme. ²⁹ But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit has no forgiveness forever, but is guilty of eternal sin; ³⁰ because they said: He has an unclean spirit.

¹⁰ And every one that shall speak a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but to him that blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven.

⁹ I pray for them; I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; because they are thine.

¹⁴ Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil; the Lord reward him according to his works.

⁴ For it is impossible that they who have once been enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, ⁵ and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, ⁶ and have fallen away, should again be renewed to repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to open shame.

²⁶ For if we willingly sin, after having received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and a fiery indignation, which will devour the adversaries. ²⁸ He that despised Moses' law died without mercy, under two or three witnesses. ²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, suppose ye, will he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has accounted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite to the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know him who said: To me belongs vengeance; I will recompense, saith the Lord; and again: The Lord will judge his people. ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

¹⁴ Is any sick among you, let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and even if he have committed sins, it will be forgiven him.

²⁰ For if, having escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christy but having again become entangled therein they are overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. ²¹ For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, having known it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog, returned to his own vomit; and, A sow that was washed, to the wallowing in the mire.

²⁰ Moreover the law came in also, that the trespass might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound; ²¹ that as sin reigned in death, so also might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹⁵ Then lust, having conceived, brings forth sin; and sin, when completed, brings forth death.

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. ⁸ Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. ⁹ Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into heaviness. ¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.

⁴ Every one that commits sin also commits transgression of law; and sin is transgression of law.

¹⁶ If any one see his brother sin a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and he will give him life,—to those who sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death; for that I do not say that he shall pray.

¹³ who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

² The same came to him by night, and said to him: Rabbi, we know that thou hast come a teacher from God; for no one can do these signs which thou doest, except God be with him. ³ Jesus answered and said to him: Verily, verily, I say to thee, except a man be born again, he can not see the kingdom of God. ⁴ Nicodemus says to him: How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? ⁵ Jesus answered: Verily, verily, I say to thee, except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God.

³⁰ I will no longer talk much with you; for the prince of the world comes, and in me he has nothing.

⁴ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, if it abide not in the vine, so neither can ye, if ye abide not in me.

⁹ As the Father loved me, I also loved you; abide in my love.

²³ Who having come, and seen the grace of God, rejoiced; and he exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they should cleave to the Lord.

²⁷ Religion, pure and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: To visit the orphans and widows in their affliction; to keep himself unspotted from the world.

²³ being born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the word of God, which lives and abides forever.

³ And every one, that has this hope on him, purifies himself even as he is pure.

¹² Not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore did he slay him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

⁶ We are of God; he that knows God, hears us; he that is not of God, hears us not. From this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

²¹ Little children, keep yourselves from the idols.

²⁴ Now to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy;

¹³ I know where thou dwellest, where the throne of Satan is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny the faith in me, even in the days in which Antipas was my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

⁸ I know thy works. Behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which no one can shut; because thou hast little power and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name. ⁹ Behold, I make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie, behold, I will make them to come and bow down before thy feet, and to know that I loved thee. ¹⁰ Because thou didst keep my word of patient endurance, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which is about to come upon the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

¹⁸ If the world hates you, ye know that it has hated me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this the world hates you.

¹¹ of judgment, in that the prince of this world has been judged.

²⁸ And as they did not choose to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not becoming; ²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; whisperers, ³⁰ slanderers, haters of God, overbearing, proud, boasters, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful; ³² who, knowing the judgment of God, that they who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those who do them.

⁹ What then? Are we better? No, in no wise; for we before charged, that both Jews and Gentiles are all under sin. ¹⁰ As it is written: There is none righteous, no, no one; ¹¹ there is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. ¹² They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, there is not so much as one. ¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; ¹⁴ whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood. ¹⁶ Destruction and misery are in their ways; ¹⁷ and the way of peace they have not known. ¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, did we deport ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

⁴ in whom the god of this world blinded the understandings of the unbelieving, that they should not discern the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

⁴ who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of the present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father;

² in which ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience;

¹² For which cause I suffer also these things. But I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him, unto that day.

³ For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, going astray, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

⁴ Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore desires to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

²⁴ And he that keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he abides in us, from the Spirit which he gave us.

⁴ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you, than he who is in the world. ⁵ They are of the world; for this cause they speak of the world, and the world hears them. ⁶ We are of God; he that knows God, hears us; he that is not of God, hears us not. From this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

¹³ These things I wrote to you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, who believe on the name of the Son of God.

¹⁸ We know that every one who has been begotten of God sins not; but he that was begotten of God keeps himself; and the evil one touches him not.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who leads astray the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

⁷ And it was given him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them; and power was given him over every tribe, and tongue, and nation. ⁸ And all who dwell upon the earth will worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb which is slain, from the foundation of the world.

³ and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and set a seal over him, that he mislead the nations no more, until the thousand years are finished; after these he must be loosed a little time.

⁷ And when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be loosed out of his prison, ⁸ and will go out to mislead the nations that are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

¹¹ And he answering said to them: To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given.

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay or withstand.

⁴⁵ Then he opened their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures.

¹ IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him; and without him was nothing made that has been made.

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he declared him.

⁹ Jesus says to him: Am I so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou: Show us the Father?

²⁰ In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

²³ Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

³ And this is the eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou didst send.

¹⁴ I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

²⁰ And I pray not for these only, but also for those who believe on me through their word; ²¹ that all may be one; as thou, Father, in me and I in thee, that they also may be in us; that the world may believe that thou didst send me. ²² And the glory which thou hast given to me I have given to them, that they may be one, as we are one; ²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them as thou lovedst me.

²⁵ Righteous Father! And the world knew thee not! But I knew thee, and these knew that thou didst send me;

²⁸ Thomas answered and said to him: My Lord, and my God.

²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to feed the church of the Lord, which he purchased with his own blood.

⁵ whose are the fathers, and of whom as to the flesh is Christ, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

⁶ Because it is God, who commands light to shine out of darkness; who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

¹⁷ So that if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, all things have become new.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give to you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the full knowledge of him; ¹⁸ the eyes of your heart being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ and what the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

¹⁸ that ye may be able to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height,

⁹ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is of God, upon faith;

² that their hearts might be encouraged, they being knit together in love, and unto all the riches of the full assurance of the understanding, unto the full knowledge of the mystery of God, even Christ; ³ in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.

¹³ looking for the blissful hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

⁸ but of the Son: Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; A sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom;

⁶ He that says he abides in him ought, as he walked, himself also so to walk.

²⁴ What ye heard from the beginning, let it abide in you. If what ye heard from the beginning shall abide in you, ye also will abide in the Son, and in the Father.

¹⁴ And we have seen, and bear witness, that the Father has sent forth the Son, a Savior of the world.

¹⁶ And we have known, and have believed, the love that God has in respect to us. God is love; and he that abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

¹¹ And this is the witness, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things says the Holy, the True, he who has the key of David, he who opens, and no one shall shut, and shuts, and no one opens.

¹⁴ And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Master, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell upon the earth?

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God the Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of the nations.

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he who sat upon him, called Faithful and True; and in righteousness he judges, and makes war.

¹³ And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

⁷ Nor be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written: The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

¹⁴ Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For ye are a temple of the living God; as God said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be to me a people. ¹⁷ Wherefore, come out from among them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and touch not anything unclean; and I will receive you,

⁹ For they themselves report concerning us, what manner of entrance we had to you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God,

²⁰ And the rest of men, who were not killed in these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk;

¹⁴ and he leads astray those who dwell on the earth, because of the signs which it was given him to do in the presence of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which has the wound of the sword, and lived. ¹⁵ And it was given him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should also speak, and should cause that as many as worship not the image of the beast should be killed.

¹¹ And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.
