remaining" (for which See REMNANT), is frequently used to mean "the rest," and is generally so translated in the RV (AV, "others" in Luke 8:10; Acts 28:9; Ephesians 2:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13; 1 Thessalonians 5:6; 1 Timothy 5:20; AV, "other" in Luke 18:11; Acts 17:9; Romans 1:13; 2 Corinthians 12:13; 2 Corinthians 13:2; Galatians 2:13; Philippians 1:13; Philippians 4:3); the neut. plur., lit., "remaining things," is used in Luke 12:26; 1 Corinthians 11:34.

signifying "still left, left over" (epi, "over," and No. 1), is used in the neuter with the article in 1 Peter 4:2, "the rest (of your time)."
