Matthew 24:6-8

6 and ye shall begin to hear of wars, and reports of wars; see, be not troubled, for it behoveth all these to come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 `For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places; 8 and all these are the beginning of sorrows;

1 Corinthians 7:23

23 with a price ye were bought, become not servants of men;

Romans 13:1-14

1 Let every soul to the higher authorities be subject, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities existing are appointed by God, 2 so that he who is setting himself against the authority, against God's ordinance hath resisted; and those resisting, to themselves shall receive judgment. 3 For those ruling are not a terror to the good works, but to the evil; and dost thou wish not to be afraid of the authority? that which is good be doing, and thou shalt have praise from it, 4 for of God it is a ministrant to thee for good; and if that which is evil thou mayest do, be fearing, for not in vain doth it bear the sword; for of God it is a ministrant, an avenger for wrath to him who is doing that which is evil. 5 Wherefore it is necessary to be subject, not only because of the wrath, but also because of the conscience, 6 for because of this also pay ye tribute; for servants of God they are, on this very thing attending continually;
7 render, therefore, to all their dues; to whom tribute, the tribute; to whom custom, the custom; to whom fear, the fear; to whom honour, the honour. 8 To no one owe anything, except to love one another; for he who is loving the other—law he hath fulfilled, 9 for, `Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false testimony, Thou shalt not covet;' and if there is any other command, in this word it is summed up, in this: `Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself;' 10 the love to the neighbour doth work no ill; the love, therefore, is the fulness of law.
11 And this, knowing the time, that for us, the hour already is to be aroused out of sleep, for now nearer is our salvation than when we did believe; 12 the night did advance, and the day came nigh; let us lay aside, therefore, the works of the darkness, and let us put on the armour of the light; 13 as in day-time, let us walk becomingly; not in revellings and drunkennesses, not in chamberings and lasciviousnesses, not in strife and emulation; 14 but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and for the flesh take no forethought—for desires.

Romans 13:4

4 for of God it is a ministrant to thee for good; and if that which is evil thou mayest do, be fearing, for not in vain doth it bear the sword; for of God it is a ministrant, an avenger for wrath to him who is doing that which is evil.

Romans 12:17-21

17 giving back to no one evil for evil; providing right things before all men. 18 If possible—so far as in you—with all men being in peace; 19 not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath, for it hath been written, `Vengeance is Mine, 20 I will recompense again, saith the Lord;' if, then, thine enemy doth hunger, feed him; if he doth thirst, give him drink; for this doing, coals of fire thou shalt heap upon his head; 21 Be not overcome by the evil, but overcome, in the good, the evil.

2 Timothy 2:3-4

3 thou, therefore, suffer evil as a good soldier of Jesus Christ; 4 no one serving as a soldier did entangle himself with the affairs of life, that him who did enlist him he may please;

Isaiah 41:10

10 Be not afraid, for with thee I am, Look not around, for I am thy God, I have strengthened thee, Yea, I have helped thee, yea, I upheld thee, With the right hand of My righteousness.

Romans 13:1-5

1 Let every soul to the higher authorities be subject, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities existing are appointed by God, 2 so that he who is setting himself against the authority, against God's ordinance hath resisted; and those resisting, to themselves shall receive judgment. 3 For those ruling are not a terror to the good works, but to the evil; and dost thou wish not to be afraid of the authority? that which is good be doing, and thou shalt have praise from it, 4 for of God it is a ministrant to thee for good; and if that which is evil thou mayest do, be fearing, for not in vain doth it bear the sword; for of God it is a ministrant, an avenger for wrath to him who is doing that which is evil. 5 Wherefore it is necessary to be subject, not only because of the wrath, but also because of the conscience,

Psalms 33:12-22

12 O the happiness of the nation whose God is Jehovah, Of the people He did choose, For an inheritance to Him. 13 From the heavens hath Jehovah looked, He hath seen all the sons of men. 14 From the fixed place of His dwelling, He looked unto all inhabitants of the earth; 15 Who is forming their hearts together, Who is attending unto all their works. 16 The king is not saved by the multitude of a force. A mighty man is not delivered, By abundance of power. 17 A false thing is the horse for safety, And by the abundance of his strength He doth not deliver. 18 Lo, the eye of Jehovah is to those fearing Him, To those waiting for His kindness, 19 To deliver from death their soul, And to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul hath waited for Jehovah, Our help and our shield is He, 21 For in Him doth our heart rejoice, For in His holy name we have trusted. 22 Let Thy kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, As we have waited for Thee!

Psalms 144:1

Ephesians 6:10-20

10 As to the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might; 11 put on the whole armour of God, for your being able to stand against the wiles of the devil, 12 because we have not the wrestling with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual things of the evil in the heavenly places; 13 because of this take ye up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done—to stand. 14 Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about in truth, and having put on the breastplate of the righteousness, 15 and having the feet shod in the preparation of the good-news of the peace; 16 above all, having taken up the shield of the faith, in which ye shall be able all the fiery darts of the evil one to quench, 17 and the helmet of the salvation receive, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the saying of God, 18 through all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the Spirit, and in regard to this same, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
19 and in behalf of me, that to me may be given a word in the opening of my mouth, in freedom, to make known the secret of the good news, 20 for which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I may speak freely—as it behoveth me to speak.

Deuteronomy 20:1-4

1 `When thou goest out to battle against thine enemy, and hast seen horse and chariot—a people more numerous than thou—thou art not afraid of them, for Jehovah thy God is with thee, who is bringing thee up out of the land of Egypt; 2 and it hath been, in your drawing near unto the battle, that the priest hath come nigh, and spoken unto the people, 3 and said unto them, Hear, Israel, ye are drawing near to-day to battle against your enemies, let not your hearts be tender, fear not, nor make haste, nor be terrified at their presence, 4 for Jehovah your God is He who is going with you, to fight for you with your enemies—to save you.

13 greater love than this hath no one, that any one his life may lay down for his friends;

Psalms 144:1-2

1 By David. Blessed is Jehovah my rock, who is teaching My hands for war, my fingers for battle. 2 My kind one, and my bulwark, My tower, and my deliverer, My shield, and in whom I have trusted, Who is subduing my people under me!
