Bible verses about "works" | Worsley

Hebrews 6:10

10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewn to his name, by having ministred to the saints, and yet ministring.

Hebrews 13:21

21 make you perfect in every good work, to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Titus 2:7

7 in all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works, with uncorruptness in teaching, gravity, sound doctrine that cannot be condemned;

James 1:22-27

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror, 24 who beheld himself, and went away, and immediately forgot what manner of man he was. 25 But he that looketh well into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his heart, this man's devotion is vain. 27 Pure and uncorrupt religion before God and our Father is this, to take care of orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Matthew 5:16

16 So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father, who is in heaven.

James 2:14-20

14 What is the advantage, my brethren, if any one say that he has faith, and he hath not works, can faith alone save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food; 16 and one of you say to them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and be ye filled: but ye give them not the necessaries of life, what profit is it to them? 17 so faith, if it have not works, being alone, is dead. 18 But one may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith by thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble. 20 But desirest thou to know, O vain man, that faith without works, is dead?

Titus 3:8

8 This is a word which ought to believed and observed, and concerning these things I would have thee stedfastly affirm, that they who have believed in God be careful to excel in good works: for these things are good and profitable to men.

James 2:20-24

20 But desirest thou to know, O vain man, that faith without works, is dead? 21 consider, Was not our father Abraham justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? 22 Thou seest that faith co-operated with his works, and that by his works his faith was perfected. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God. 24 Ye see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Titus 3:14

14 And let our brethren-also learn to excel in good works for necessary exigencies, that they may not be unfruitful.

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace ye are saved, through faith: and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not by works, that no one may boast: 9 for we are his workmanship, 10 created in Christ Jesus unto good works, for which God before prepared us, that we might walk in them.
