⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.

³⁵ And if it stiled them gods, to whom the word of God came, (and the scripture cannot be made void,)

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and well-pleasing to God, as your rational service. ² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may experience what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. ³ For by the grace conferred on me I charge every one among you, not to think of himself above what he ought to think: but to think with sobriety, according as God hath divided to every man the measure of faith. ⁴ For as in one body we have many members, and all the members have not the same office: ⁵ so we who are many, are one body in Christ, and every one members of each other. ⁶ But having different gifts, according to the grace conferred upon us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith: ⁷ or ministry, let us attend to the ministry: or he that teacheth, on teaching: or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: ⁸ he that distributeth, let him do it with integrity: he that presideth, with diligence: he that sheweth mercy, with chearfulness. ⁹ Let love be unfeigned. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good; ¹⁰ be tenderly affected with brotherly love to each other, in honor preferring one another: ¹¹ not slothful in business: fervent in spirit: serving the Lord. ¹² Rejoicing in hope, patient under affliction, persevering in prayer, ¹³ communicating to the necessities of the saints, given to hospitality. ¹⁴ Bless them that persecute you: bless them, I say, and do not curse them. ¹⁵ Rejoice with those that rejoice, and weep with those that weep. ¹⁶ Be alike affected to each other: not aiming at high things, but accommodating yourselves to persons of low rank. Be not wise in your own conceit. ¹⁷ Render to no one evil for evil: behaving honorably in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as ye can, live peaceably with all men. ¹⁹ Avenge not yourselves, my beloved; but rather give place to the wrath of others: for it is written, "Vengeance belongeth to me, I will recompence, saith the Lord." ²⁰ Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. ²¹ Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹⁶ For we did not follow artfully devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; but were eye-witnesses of his majesty.

¹⁵ but holding the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him, who is the head, even Christ: ¹⁶ from whom the whole body being fitly joined together and compacted by the aid of every joint, according to the operation proportioned to every part, maketh an increase to the edification of itself in love.

¹⁵ But that on the good ground, are those who having heard the word, retain it in a good and honest heart, and bring forth fruit with patience.

⁴³ And why do ye not understand my language, but because ye cannot bear my doctrine? ⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such. ⁴⁵ And because I say the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convicteth me of sin? ⁴⁶ And if I speak truth, why do ye not believe me? ⁴⁷ He, that is of God, receiveth the words of God; but ye therefore receive them not, because ye are not of God.

¹⁸ But the things, which proceed out of the mouth, come from the heart, and those defile a man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart proceed wicked disputings, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false-witnessings, slanders: ²⁰ these defile a man, but to eat without washing the hands doth not defile him.

¹⁷ Sanctify them by thy truth: thy word is truth.

⁹ And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends with these unrighteous treasures, that when they fail, ye may be received into everlasting habitations. ¹⁰ He, that is faithful in the lest, is faithful also in much: and he, that is unjust in the lest, is unjust also in much. ¹¹ If therefore ye have not been faithful in the false riches, who will intrust you with the true? ¹² and if ye have not been faithful in that which was another's, who will give you that which is your own? ¹³ No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or at lest he will be attached to the one, and neglect the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon. ¹⁴ And the pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things; and derided Him. ¹⁵ And He said unto them, Ye justify yourselves before men, but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

⁹ Lie not one to another, seeing ye have put off the old man with his evil practices; ¹⁰ and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of Him that created him.
