⁴¹ They therefore that received his word with readiness were baptized: and in that same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

²⁷ that Thou wilt not leave my soul in the invisible state, nor suffer thine holy one to see corruption.

⁵¹ Behold, I tell you a mystery: we shall not all sleep; but we shall all be changed in a moment, ⁵² in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet (for the trumpet shall sound) and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed: ⁵³ for this corruptible body must put on incorruption, and this mortal body must be clothed with immortality. ⁵⁴ And when this corruptible shall be clothed with incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the word that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory." ⁵⁵ O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give as a ransom for his soul?

²⁸ And be not afraid of them, who can only kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him, who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
