¹ Now after the sabbath, in the dawning towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, to look at the sepulchre: ² and behold, there had been a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descending from heaven, had come and rolled away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it: ³ (and his countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: ⁴ and the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men:) ⁵ and the angel said to the women, Be not ye afraid: for I know that ye seek Jesus who was crucified. ⁶ He is not here, for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay: ⁷ and go quickly, and tell his disciples that He is risen from the dead; and behold, He is going before you into Galilee; there ye shall see Him; lo, I have told you. ⁸ And they went immediately from the sepulchre, with fear, and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. ⁹ And as they were going to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them and said, God save you. And they drew near and embraced his feet, and worshipped Him. ¹⁰ Then saith Jesus unto them, Be not afraid, go tell my brethren to repair into Galilee, and there they shall see me. ¹¹ Now while they were going, behold some of the guard came into the city, and told the chief priests all that had happened: ¹² and they assembled with the elders, and taking counsel together gave the soldiers a large sum of money, ¹³ saying, Do you say, that his disciples came by night, and stole Him away, while we were asleep. ¹⁴ And if this should come to a hearing before the governor, we will satisfy him, and indemnify you. ¹⁵ So they took the money, and did as they were instructed: and this is commonly reported among the Jews to this day. ¹⁶ And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them. ¹⁷ And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him: but some doubted. ¹⁸ And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me both in heaven and on earth. ¹⁹ Go ye therefore and instruct all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost, ²⁰ and teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.

¹¹ But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man that had not put on a wedding-garment, and saith to him,

²⁴ Whom God hath raised up again, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. ²⁵ For David saith concerning Him, "I set the Lord always before me, for He is at my right hand, that I should not be moved: therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; ²⁶ and my flesh shall rest in hope, ²⁷ that Thou wilt not leave my soul in the invisible state, nor suffer thine holy one to see corruption. ²⁸ Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; and Thou wilt fill me with joy by the light of thy countenance." ²⁹ Men and brethren, allow me to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he is dead and buried, and his sepulchre is among us to this day. ³⁰ Therefore being a prophet; and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Messiah, to sit on his throne; ³¹ foreseeing this he spake of the resurrection of Christ, when he said, that his soul was not left in the invisible state, nor did his flesh see corruption. ³² This Jesus hath God raised up from the dead, of which we all are witnesses. ³³ Therefore being exalted by the right hand of God, and having received of the Father the promise of the holy Spirit, He hath poured forth this gift, which ye now see and hear. ³⁴ For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he himself says, "The Lord said to my Lord, ³⁵ Sit thou at my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool." ³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made this very Jesus, whom ye crucified, both Lord and Christ.

⁹ But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should declare the glories of Him, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth passed away, and there was no more sea. ² And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be his people, and God himself, even their God, will be with them. ⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall be death no more, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

¹³ And one of the elders said unto me, Who are these that are clothed in white robes, and from whence did they come?

¹¹ And white robes were given to each of them, and it was told them to rest a little while longer, till the number of their fellow-servants, and their brethren that should be killed as they were, should be complete.

⁹ After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no one could number, out of all nations, and tribes, and people, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and with palms in their hands;

¹⁴ Happy are they that do his commandments, so shall they have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.
