² And after six days Jesus taketh with Him Peter, and James, and John, and bringeth them up by themselves to a high mountain apart; and was transfigured before them: ³ and his raiment shone, being exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller on earth can whiten. ⁴ And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. ⁵ Then said Peter to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: let us make three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: ⁶ for he knew not what to say, for they were sore afraid. ⁷ And there was a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, hear ye Him. ⁸ And immediately looking round about, they saw no more of any one, but Jesus alone with them.

²² But having obtained help of God, I continue until this day, testifying both to small and great, and saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses declared should come to pass; even that the Messiah should suffer,

²² And Moses was trained up in all the wisdom of the Egyptians: and he was mighty in words, and in deeds.

²⁴ By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; ²⁵ chusing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin: ²⁶ esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he looked to the recompence of reward.

²³ By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a fine child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. ²⁴ By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; ²⁵ chusing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin: ²⁶ esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he looked to the recompence of reward. ²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he continued firm as seeing Him who is invisible. ²⁸ By faith he observed the passover and sprinkling of the blood, that he, who destroyed the first-born of the Egyptians, might not touch them.

²² For Moses said unto the fathers, the Lord your God will raise up a prophet unto you, of your brethren, like me, Him shall ye hear in all things whatever He shall say unto you;
