³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these shall be superadded unto you.

¹⁸ And those that are sown as among thorns, are these: such as hear the word indeed, ¹⁹ but the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and inordinate desires after other things entering in choke the word, and so it becometh unfruitful.

² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may experience what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

¹⁵ Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world; for if any one love the world to excess, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but of the world. ¹⁷ And the world passeth away, and the desire of it: but he, that doth the will of God, abideth for ever.

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ For we brought nothing into the world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out: ⁸ having therefore food and raiment, let us be herewith content. ⁹ But they, that will be rich, fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into ruin and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evils, which some coveting after have been led astray from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

¹⁷ Charge them, that are rich in this world, not to be high-minded nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who richly affords us all things for enjoyment: charge them to do good, ¹⁸ to be rich in good works, to be ready to distribute, willing to communicate; ¹⁹ treasuring up to themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may obtain eternal life.

³³ Sell what ye have, and give alms: provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a never-failing treasure in the heavens, where no thief approacheth nor moth corrupteth: ³⁴ for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

¹⁹ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupts, and where thieves break through and steal: ²⁰ but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: ²¹ for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
