¹³ And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three graces; but the greatest of these is love.

⁴ For whatever things were written heretofore, were written for our instruction; that we through patience and the consolation of the scriptures might have hope.

¹ Now faith is the confident expectation of things hoped for, and a conviction of things not seen:

² through whom also we have admission by faith into this grace in which we stand, and boast in hope of the glory of God. ³ And not only so, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation worketh patience, ⁴ and patience experience, ⁵ and experience hope, and this hope maketh us not ashamed; because the love of God is diffused in our hearts by the holy Spirit that is given to us.

¹² Rejoicing in hope, patient under affliction, persevering in prayer,

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope through the power of the holy Spirit.
