⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness:

³⁷ Now when they heard this, they were pricked to the heart, and said unto Peter, and to the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?

⁸ And when He comes, He will convince the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement:

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that doth evil, hateth the light; and he cometh not to the light, least his deeds should be reproved. ²¹ But he that acts according to truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

⁹ However, now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance; for ye were grieved after a godly manner, so that ye received no damage from us. ¹⁰ For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
