Bible verses about "archangels" | Worsley

Matthew 18:10

10 See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I tell you, that their angels in heaven do continually appear in the presence of my father, who is in heaven:

1 Peter 5:8

8 Be sober, be vigilant; for your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

2 Peter 2:4

4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgement; and if He spared not the old world,

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

13 But I would not have you ignorant, my brethren, concerning those that are fallen asleep, that ye may not be grieved like others who have no hope: 14 for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also those, that sleep in Jesus, will God bring with Him. 15 For this we tell you in the word of the Lord, that we who shall be living and remain to the coming of the Lord, shall not be before those that are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with acclamation, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; 17 then we who are living and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we for ever be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Moreover, my brethren, strengthen yourselves in the Lord, and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil. 12 For our conflict is not with flesh and blood only, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the world and of the darkness of this age, against wicked spirits in heavenly places. 13 Take therefore the complete armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. 14 Stand therefore having your loins girt about with truth, and putting on the breast-plate of righteousness: 15 and having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace: 16 over all taking the shield of faith, whereby ye will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one: 17 take also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 praying at all seasons with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance, and intercession for all the saints;

1 John 4:1

1 Beloved, believe not every Spirit, but try the spirits, whether they be of God: for many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Revelation 20:1-15

1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, who had the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he seized the dragon, that old serpent, who is the devil and satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he might deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years be finished: and then he must be loosed for a little time. 4 And I saw thrones, and persons sat on them, and judgement was given to them: and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God; and who had not worshipped the beast, nor his image, and received not his mark upon their forehead, and on their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again till the thousand years be finished. 6 This is the first resurrection. Happy and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on these the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. 7 And when the thousand years are ended, 8 Satan shall be loosed from his confinement, and shall go forth to deceive the nations, that are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to war, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they overspread the surface of the earth, and encompassed the camp of the saints, and the beloved city: but fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged by the things written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every one according to their works. 14 And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire: this is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was cast into the lake of fire.

1 Thessalonians 4:16

16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with acclamation, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;

Jude 1:9

9 Whereas Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, did not presume to bring against him a railing accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke thee."
