²⁵ And every one who strives in the games exercises self restraint in all things; they, indeed, therefore, to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God is dwelling in you? ¹⁷ If any one destroys the temple of God, him will God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are ye.

³ And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations; knowing that tribulation works out patience; ⁴ and patience, approval; and approval, hope; ⁵ and hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the holy Spirit, Who was given to us. ⁶ For, while we were yet weak, Christ, in due season, died for the ungodly.

⁹ Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the Kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you; but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone forth into the world. ² In this ye know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ hath come in flesh is of God; ³ and every spirit that confesses not Jesus is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ, of which ye have heard that it is coming, and now it is in the world already. ⁴ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He Who is in you, than he that is in the world. ⁵ They are of the world; for this cause they speak of the world, and the world hears them. ⁶ We are of God; he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears us not: from this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. ⁷ Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God. ⁸ He that loves not never knew God; because God is love. ⁹ In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has ever beheld God. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and His love has been perfected in us. ¹³ In this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have beheld, and testify, that the Father hath sent the Son, as Savior of the world. ¹⁵ Whosoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in Him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abideth in him. ¹⁷ In this has love been made perfect with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, even so are we in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and he who fears is not made perfect in love. ¹⁹ We love, because He first loved us. ²⁰ If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God Whom he has not seen. ²¹ And this commandment we have from Him, that he who loves God loves his brother also.

¹⁶ But I say, walk by the Spirit, and ye will not fulfill the desire of the flesh.

¹³ I am strong enough for all things in Him Who strengtheneth me.

¹ I beseech you, therefore, brethren, through the mercies of God, to present, your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your rational service; ² and he not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹⁴ but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill its desires.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, is going about, seeking whom he may devour;

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, continence; against such there is no law. ²⁴ And those who are of Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with the passions and desires. ²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk.

⁶ and in knowledge, continence; and in continence, patience; and in patience, godliness;

²⁷ But I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage; lest, by any means, after having preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

¹² teaching us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and righteously, and godly in the present age;

²³ meekness, continence; against such there is no law.
