¹⁶ Thomas, who is called Dydimus, said, therefore, to His fellow-disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with Him."

¹³ I am strong enough for all things in Him Who strengtheneth me.

⁹ And He hath said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you; for My power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Wherefore, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then am I powerful.

²⁸ And be not afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him Who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. ²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father. ³⁰ But the very hairs of your head have all been numbered. ³¹ Fear not, therefore; ye are of more value than many sparrows. ³² "Every one, therefore, who shall confess Me before men, him will I also confess before My Father Who is in Heaven. ³³ But whosoever denies Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father Who is in Heaven.

³¹ What, then, shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? ³² He Who spared not His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? ³³ Who will bring an accusation against God's elect? It is God Who justifieth; ³⁴ who is he that condemns? It is Christ Who died, yea, rather, That was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God, Who also is making intercession for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or perils or sword?

⁹ And, when He opened the fifth seal, I saw, underneath the altar, the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they were holding. ¹⁰ And they cried with a great voice, saying, "How long, O Master, the Holy, and the True, dost Thou not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell upon the earth?"

¹² Yea, and all who wish to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

¹⁴ If ye are reproached in Christ's name, happy are ye, because the Spirit of glory and that of God rests upon you. ¹⁵ For let no one of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in other men's matters; ¹⁶ but, if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name.
