John 20:19-24

19 When, therefore, it was evening, on that day, the first day of sabbaths; and, when, through fear of the Jews, the doors were shut, where the disciples were; Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith to them, "Peace be to you!" 20 And, having said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples, therefore, rejoiced, when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus, therefore, said to them again, "Peace be to you! As the Father hath sent Me, I also send you." 22 And, having said this, He breathed upon them, and said to them, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit. 23 Whosesoever sins ye remit, they are remitted to them; whosesoever sins ye retain, they are retained." 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

Matthew 16:18-19

18 And I also say to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My assembly, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven; and whatsoever you shall bind on the earth shall have been bound in Heaven, and whatsoever you shall loose on the earth shall have been loosed in Heaven."
