¹⁹ When, therefore, it was evening, on that day, the first day of sabbaths; and, when, through fear of the Jews, the doors were shut, where the disciples were; Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith to them, "Peace be to you!" ²⁰ And, having said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples, therefore, rejoiced, when they saw the Lord. ²¹ Jesus, therefore, said to them again, "Peace be to you! As the Father hath sent Me, I also send you." ²² And, having said this, He breathed upon them, and said to them, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit. ²³ Whosesoever sins ye remit, they are remitted to them; whosesoever sins ye retain, they are retained." ²⁴ But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

⁵ For there is one God, one Mediator also between God and men, a Man, Christ Jesus,

¹⁸ And I also say to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My assembly, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. ¹⁹ I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven; and whatsoever you shall bind on the earth shall have been bound in Heaven, and whatsoever you shall loose on the earth shall have been loosed in Heaven."
