¹¹ in Whom we also were made a heritage, having been predestinated according to the purpose of Him Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will;

⁸ For by grace ye have been saved through faith: and this, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: ⁹ not of works, lest any one should boast; ¹⁰ for we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God before prepared, that we should walk in them.

¹⁷ Consequently, faith comes of hearing; and hearing, through the word of Christ.

The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart; that is, the word of faith, which we preach; ⁹ that if you shall confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and shall believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; ¹⁰ for with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ¹¹ For the Scripture says, "Whosoever believes on Him shall not be put to shame." ¹² For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the Same One is Lord of all, being rich toward all who call upon Him; ¹³ for, "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

¹⁶ So, then, it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God Who hath mercy.

⁵ having predestinated us to the adoption of sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

⁴⁴ No one can come to Me, unless the Father Who sent Me draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵¹ Ye stiffnecked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears! ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye.
